[SCRIPT + PDA] Display Crime Chain - Finally!

    Display Crime Chain
    For when you cbf going to torn.report for it because your lazy af

     

    This script will display the your crime chain bonus in the title bar on the crimes page

     




    REQUIRES A FULL ACCESS API KEY:

    • Input form for your API Key will only show on the crime page.
    • If you are on PDA your API key is automatically gathered from there.
    • NB. if you have a limited access API key in PDA you WILL need to change it to a full access one!

     



    FINISHING COMMENTS:

    • If you experience any bugs or issues comment them below and ill try to sort ASAP
    • If you have any other features you want added let me know. there is usually plenty of scope for these things
    • If this script shows you love and you wanna throw some love back (completely optional). I have a 4 nerve beer addiction that could use some enabling.

    Accessibility wise, the chain number is read out. There is nothing to indicate what the number is though.

    Having said that, it is easy enough to figure out what the number is, since it appeared only after I installed the script.

    If this were an official Torn update, I'd probably complain about the missing aria-label.

    Since it is not, I am going to just be happy that the chain count is now available. :)

    So it’d be fairly easy to add in an aria label. So you want it to read crime chain in the aria label for the number?

    also if there is poor accessibility with any of my other scripts you’re using let me know what missing for you and I’ll add it in

    I might check out a few of your other scripts soon.

    I believe I tried one recently that helps with online/idle/offline status.

    Not sure if that was yours or not, so I'll double check tomorrow.

    The issue for screen readers with the statuses, is that the icons are color coded. This of course means nothing to the screen reader.

    No idea if aria-labels would be possible in that regard or how difficult it might be to add them, just thought I would mention it.

    Should just work on pda using your PDA api key. You need to make sure your APi key is a ‘Full access’ one

    Yeah there would be… I’ll have to change the if statments to look for the whole class not the outcome. There are probably other ways too. I won’t have time to do this till after Boxing Day probably…

    Awesome tool, question on it with cracking. Guessing a letter incorrectly resets the chain to zero, but the game doesnt count that as a failure or a critical failure. Curious if this is working as intended (and failing at guessing a letter manually is considered a critical failure for the sake of crime chains) or just an unintended interaction.

    *Edit: It seems to be doing it to me on and off. My chain came back, I guessed on a different cracking code and it did it again. After a minute or two and refreshing the page the chain counter does return though.
