Interesting article, clearly a deliberate leak for a new upgrade that it is imminent. I quite enjoy the fact that the newspaper is being used in this form.

The article refers to this place as "New Citizen Welcome Center" but specifically "token shop". So is a new form of currency being introduced in the form of tokens? If so how do you earn tokens.

It would seem that the tokens can be used to redeem special banners or perhaps one of two rare items.

The Red boats mentioned could be a new staff item.

I personally find those sort of articles hard to read just because it's written in a story like way, when trying to get information and news i like it to be on point - not that i think there's anything wrong with it but that's my personal preference. So because of that cheers for letting me know as i wouldn't have read about it

What's the point of having honours for newspaper article and comics if they are so restricted on who can write for them? It's a bit ridiculous. Those honours should be thrown in the dump along with the faction commitment medals imho.

Thanks for the thread though - I rarely read the newspaper articles because of drawn out narrative tripe like that article.

Haven't you seen, that was confirmed in Torn 2.0? Staff get one merit per year served.

(This post is confirmed as extremely legitimate and everything should be taken as face value without any common sense)

if torn released little 'peak previews' into updates like that it would be cool and they should have some teaser like that for each update but i do not believe that crap.

I don't know, I find some of the articles well written and entertaining at the very least, specifically Illusionists. I think the announcement page is more for the facts and the newspaper more for entertainment.

I always thought it was because they either felt that having their name posted twice right beside their post was not good enough for them that they had to add one more to be thought of as special or they keep forgetting what their name is so they have to keep writing it down all the time XP

To be fair the person doing it isn't using the signature function that automatically adds it like most of us (we use ugly pictures though). I always felt people that signed their posts just feel they're more important than they are :P

I think the narrative part of some articles in Torn reflect that this game has a little bit of character, with active players who truly enjoy playing

I have signatures turned off (Thank you Torn gods for this option), you all look the same to me now when I can't see your ugly pictures!!

I think I should use an ugly signature picture though, catchy graphics attracts people usually and makes the poster look like they are not a noob and know what they are saying.
