Music Store special Well Tuned: the numbers

I decided to run some of the math behind the new 3* Music Store(MS) special Well Tuned, and having it around for everyone else.
So first off I will explain this new special and my assumptions when calculating the experience gains.
Let's start with the in-game description
Well Tuned: This special increases the gym experience you gain per train by 30%, allowing you to unlock gyms faster.
Until now, as the wiki page about gyms points out, the exp needed were estimated by energy expended. So, 1 point of energy expended = 1 'point of gym experience'. This special seems to create a new variable to earn exp, experience gain per train. Could training more times per energy used add more exp than training in heavier weight gyms?
To check if this is still true, I waited until I got my first middle weight gym, Knuckle Heads(KH) to check. I counted how many trains I needed to gain 1% exp to Pioneer Fitness using only Global Gym(GG) and then with KH, and compared the energy used.
In KH I needed between 4 and 6 trains for around 40-60 energy used.
In GG I needed between 8 and 11 trains for around 40-55 energy used per percent.
Assuming that the estimated energy needed with Well Tuned to unlock Pioneer Fitness isn't a multiple of five, the energy necessary for a percent of experience almost equal. I would expect to see a bigger difference on energy use while doing basically double the trains on a lightweight gym if there were a difference there. I chalked up the small difference as lack of testing.
Seeing that, I decided to take the exp bonus to be energy based. That is, 1 point of energy expended = 1,3 'points of gym experience'. I use this as the basis to calculate the experience advantage on a Music Store.
Assumptions and using the data
Edit: I rounded up the exp needed with the Well Tuned special. Now the number are easier to follow.
I took the energy expected for unlocking a gym from the wiki, and divided it by 1,3. Additionally, I calculated the accumulated sum energy for each new gym until George's, and put them side by side for easy comparison.
The numbers are as-is, they aren't rounded. You should always round them up at the end if you want to know how much estimated energy is required to unlock a gym for you.
The total Music Store benefits show on the tables could only be possible if you were to train with the Well Tuned special since your fist training on Premier Fitness. But is easy to make a personal estimate on how much energy is saved while training on a more advanced gym.
Let say you unlocked Complete Cardio(CC) and you have 47% on the way with Legs, Bums and Tums(LBT). You wanna know how much energy you need to reach Cha Cha's gym.- Grab from table the LBT estimate energy needed, in this case, 18000 or 13847 with Well Tuned.
- Calculate the energy you already used, in this case the 47%, which is 8460 or 6508.
- Add the above to the accumulated energy on CC on the table, here 61370(47213) + 8460(6508) = 69830(53721)
- Subtract the above number to accumulated energy needed from Cha Cha's gym: 236120(181640) - 69830(53721) = 166290 or 127919. This is how much energy you would need to train.
Energy needed = T - (C + NG * Nexp / 100)
T: Target gym accumulated energy
C: Current gym accumulated energy
NG: Next gym energy needed
Nexp: Current experience percentage unlocked
This way you can estimate how much energy you personally need to unlock a gym, being with the Well Tuned special or otherwise.
Results
Enough text, drop the numbers
I highlighted the gyms required for the specials ones. Cha Cha's for Balboas Gym and Frontline Fitness. Last Round for The Sports Science Lab. Finally, George's for Gym 3000, Mr. Isoyamas, Total Rebound and Elites. If you know Unknown Gym requirements, send me a pm.
The above table shows that Well Tuned can potentially save you up to 127202 energy to unlock all the gyms. How much it is for everyone's particular case will be less. Check the formula in the above section for an estimate.
The next table shows the estimated days required to unlock the most prominent gyms with a constant daily use of energy. I assume a natural energy regen of 20 hours used, with 600e for donators and 400e for non-donators.
Edit: Rounded up the days. Thanks Narodweas [2312928] for pointing up that is LSD, not LCD
I highlighted the best performance I calculated for a drug user and a SSL candidate. Additionally highlighted, 3 LSDs have the same time performance than using a daily FHC, being cheaper but with the additional OD risk.
The methods above are just reference regimes of how much time it can be saved training on a Music Store, each person training will vary.
FHC and the energy equivalent on cans cost around the same, with cans having a longer cooldown. You can take FHC as a reference for can use.
I would like to note that a drug user training with 2 to 3 xanax daily will take around the same time to unlock Last Round as a non-druggie using FHC and daily refills on a Music Store. I personally think is imperative for non-drug user with a competitive mindset to exploit the new special to reach SSL gym as fast as possible. I think non-drug play style can reap the most benefits on a Music Store.
I hope this can give some insights on the new special and how it can be used. ByeLast edited by GreekPoser on 23:51:44 - 24/05/20 (6 years ago)

It took me a minute to realize you were using EU notation for number formats (decimal point is a comma). It would be easier to read in general if rounded to whole numbers for the final results.
Sounds like a music store job could be helpful for new players. -

Yes, you are right that rounding the numbers could make it easier to read. In this post I decided using raw data because I didn't want to made it as a definite guide on the special. Also I wanted the data like that in case someone wanted to run their numbers in the 'using the data' section.
Next time or if I rework on this I will round the numbers for better visual
Thanks for the feedback

I think I'm going to take the SSL approach after seeing your results. -

At the end of the day, the reason you want the best gyms is for the highest the gym mulitpliers, leading to better battle stat gains. Have a look...
