I upgraded my bank interest merits from 0-10 on April 16, 2016 and checked the interest rate between each merit upgrade. The results:

    Merits1w2w1m2m3m
    00.44%1.01%2.20%4.84%7.04%
    10.54%1.24%2.70%5.94%8.64%
    20.64%1.47%3.20%7.04%10.24%

    101.44%3.31%7.20%15.84%23.04%

EDIT: Thank you HandsomePants [1897243] for the formula.
    New Rate = Base Rate + (# merits * 10/44 * Base Rate)

EDIT: Thank you L4Suicide for an updated formula for merits, 0.1% increase per merit in the weekly interest rate, 0.23% 2 weeks, 0.5% monthly, 1.1% 2monthly, 1.6% for 3 monthly

Then a little math tells us that each merit put into Banking INCREASES the effective interest rate by (Base Rate * 10/44), and so the formula for new rate after merits is:

    New Rate = Base Rate + (# merits * 10/44 * Base Rate)

    e.g. 6 merits for 2 months at base 4.84% is 4.84 + (6 * 10/44 * 4.84) = 11.44%

Why not include into the equation stock benefits?

Owning TCB block increases each rate by 10%. mywo explained it well here:

"My understanding is it is 10% of the interest. So whatever you are getting with your merits in banking * .10.

So I'm currently getting 15.94% so the block would of given me 1.594% extra. So an extra 30.8m every 60 days. Thats an extra 184m a year. Being the block costs about 931m it would take 5.06 years to pay back. With the current decline of interest rates it only seems its going to get worse."

Base rate for me shown for me in the bank is 24.64%?

    so 7.2% is 7.2 + (10 * 10/44 * 7.2) = 28.14%

but this is showing me 28.14%??

Not sure exactly what the 24.64% "base rate" value is. It remained unchanged through all of the merit upgrades. The base rate that we are referring to here is the rate with no merits for that investment period (the 0 row in the table).

The base rate appears to be the rate you would achieve if you did weekly investments for the year (compounded)

Also note the formula you have is unlikely to work now the "Torn" base rate has changed.

0.1% increase per merit in the weekly interest rate, 0.23% 2 weeks, 0.5% monthly, 1.1% 2monthly, 2.6% for 3 monthly

I suspect if someone got the same data now these values of increase wouldn't change, only the ratio (10:44) would.

Thank you L4 this is correct, with the old formula the ratio has now shifted to (5:19) but what you posted still works:

0.1% increase per merit in the weekly interest rate, 0.23% 2 weeks, 0.5% monthly, 1.1% 2monthly, 2.6% for 3 monthly
