    1. Do you often see richer players selling things? Buying more things?
People often do this ALL the time. They buy cheap in bulk, sell it at ridiculous prices. What do YOU gain? A puny turnover.

You'll get MUCH better prices selling them yourself! Newbie? Simply train to level 15 on a few high-level targets with low stats before doing some sluts, and voila! No more selling to other players at cheaper prices - make the profit your own, with a hefty bunch of merits to match! Travel, run, USE THE CITY WATCH. Minimize your loopholes, and put your money in Cayman. You'll need these for business later.

Why not? An infinity bank just 35min (25 with PI/18 with WLT) away, your Cayman account cannot be hacked. Your company funds can - 3% is a lot if you have billions in there!

    2. Stocks are fun. Just don't overdo it or you'll make a loss.
Even though Mat-Senpai has a stock guide of his own, since the stock system is always retarded as is real life's, you probably shouldn't need a guide that badly. Stock companies provide benefits, however you will need at least millions or billions to get a long-term benefit such as free energy, shorter travel time or DVDs.

    3. No more Switzerland. Invest in your faction's Hermatic upgrade!

A tip is that if you don't hit at least 50m-500m stats, you should ALWAYS be training. Switzerland is full of pocket-burning lab scientists. You can relieve of your addiction using your company's specials, but chances are you won't have enough points to get rid of all of those Vicodin and Xanax.

    4. Frequent traders you'll know eventually - just spot them out in the trade chat.

WHATEVER they are BUYING - 99.995% of all the times it's better to leave the item in your bazaar since someone else will buy it anyway! You will get back much, much more than the 250 points and 3% item market fees that you would've invested otherwise.

An example are eDVDs - people are buying it for 1.6m, 1.8m. WHY don't you see them being sold at 1.7m/1.9m? WHY is the minimum price on the market 2m and skyrocketing? IT'S NOT YOUR PROFIT!

    5. Have you ever tried asking yourself WHY IT'S NOT ALL YOUR PROFIT?

Anything other than your profit should be investments and investments only. You won't want to buy a car that loses all your races simply because someone sold it to you cheap, right? IT HAS NO RESALE VALUE!

Want a PI? Buy it off the market. Selling one? sell it for 0.5%-2.5% cheaper than the lowest PI with the same specifications. Why should others make a profit off your things? No one will sell a PI for 700B-800B! Why should you let others buy it for that sum then?

You ever had a look at your bazaar and trade chat and wonder why do people buy things for WAY cheaper than what others would normally buy(otherwise in desperation)? DON'T be someone to give those few your profit.

Let stock brokers and Bob be your only middleman.

    Stay toasty!

Good tips, but a couple things. If you are storing money in the Caymans to make interest money, you aren't using that money wisely. Secondly, sorter travel time costs 9.5b, free energy 1b, and dvds 250m. Not quite trillions.

    6) No casino. Yes, people said they make money through casino. but more people lose money than win. It is fast money but not really helpful.
    7) making money take time. it take patient.

A couple sluts and mugs will get that 30/100-day PI rental, or if you have a good spouse. I like that the cayman is only 25min away from Torn, since even being another infinity bank a company can be hacked.

Hey! That's nice. I haven't checked up on any prices yet.

Don't get me wrong, you can't keep all of your money in use, so the Caymans are great for just storing it there. I'm just saying if you are holding it there for the interest instead of using that money to trade, then its not the best option.

Haha... do traders go around harassing people? No they usually let the people who want to sell items come to them after a little bit of advertising. The customer doesnt have to pay listing fees, wait for their money, risk trade mugs, spend their time watching sales to avoid mugs, or risk losing money on items. Believe me those people advertising edvds for 1.7 arent getting customers. Usually its a modest profit in my experience. Either way its a two way street and would hardly call it a scam.

I think the point is, why involve a middle man, sell straight to the end user to maximise your profits.

yes, there is a risk of mugging, use a vault and deposit immidiately before you can be mugged.

I'd rather run the risk of mugs than hand over my profits to a middle man/trader.

I think you've made some good points here.

    - Use the Caymans because 0.5% interest still beats having it stocked up in your company bank.
    - Remove the middleman and buy stuff for less than it's actually worth.
    - Don't sell at a loss.
    - City watch will be your best 50 points ever spent.

I would like to add that Mat has a stock guide (I'll add the link later) and that you should probably not loan from Duke to invest (been there, done that).

You have some good points here the main one patience.

You have something which is selling for $1.6 million on the cheapest bazaar.

A trader wants to buy them for $1.3 million right now.

Put them on your bazaar for $1.5 million and wait, maybe a few minutes maybe a hour or 2.

This is a never ending game you dont need to rush.

'short cuts' mean you make less money. selling stuff cheap, begging, cheating, scamming, gambling etc are bad

you will end up broke or worse.

Forum signatures make my eyes hurt so i have turned them off.

I dont have Dukes max loan up enough to really give me much money but I feel that I can make more than his 2.5% back a week investing. I think there are plenty of times it would be wise to borrow from him. Great stock you want to buy into maybe?

Only thing I have noticed is it takes basically the same amount of money to get his max loan up as you get in return. For instance to get it up to 100+ mil I would have to sell 500mil worth of flamethrowers and lose about 100mil. Kind of pointless when you take that into consideration.

I believe getting the loan is worth it. If you sell some of the flamethrowers to players and some to the city you can increase your networth while breaking even. The main downside of Duke is that when you don't manage to make enough for the interest payments, the fees go up exponentially and you may end up losing it all.

2.5% is relatively easy to make, but shit happens and it only takes a few failed payments to see all you've worked for burn down in flames. I did borrow to invest and it worked out for me, but it was a close call.

I did not know his fees went up. You have to manually pay weekly I'm guessing? Also flamethrowers were the thing I was talking about when talking about the losses to get the loan up. They sell for 3m+ and you only recoup 2.5 mil I believe, which is about a 100 mil loss on 500m. Personally the best things I have found to work net worth with are HEGS if you can get that am a decent price.

I heard from others it goes up exponentially. So let's assume something irl happens and you don't log in for a few weeks. That could be the death of your life savings in Torn.

Yes, you lose quite a bit on flamethrowers. You could decide to only sell one or two to the city and sell the others to players at a profit. HEGs are great indeed. Thanks for pointing that out. I might buy a few myself :)

For PI's I found it cheaper to just do the Education Course: LAW2910 (2 weeks)

Gain a 5% discount when buying Properties from the estate agents.

With all of the upgrades nobody is selling cheaper than outright cost at the 5% discount.
    25 Millions in savings.
