Hello everyone,

After releasing my first creation for Torn City, I spent a lot of time on the Torn City Wiki learning how to progress in the game, which led me to create a long-needed dark theme project called TornDarkWiki.

Description

A simple project to turn Torn City Wikipedia into a dark theme.

Images

Feel free to use it on PDA or anywhere you would like!

Hello everyone,

I created this as a personal project, because I was blinded by the Wiki, and decided to release it to anyone who might like a dark theme.

The add-on has just been approved by Firefox and you may add it here: ~~Extension/Add-on (Outdated)~~

This will probably be the only version released and the last post about this add-on, as there is not too much traction for it. If anyone is interested by this add-on and would like it on another web-browser, please let me know :D I wouldn't mind sharing!

If you have a link to the source code (GitHub, greasemonkey, etc), it'd be cool to try this on TornPDA (more web browser scripts are working on TornPDA now).

Like most others, I only use the wiki pages as and when I need to check something specific but, I also prefer darker pages, so it would be a cool change for sure.

Edit: as I suspected, it definitely works in TornPDA. B-D

It's an extension, not a script. Extensions don't run on PDA.

Thanks for sharing! I'm not too familiar with PDA and not sure what it is. The code is written in Javascript, not sure if PDA works with JS. I have been quite busy, but it seems like the post is getting a little more traction and have gotten one message about it.

I think the best way to deal with the add-on in its current stage is to release it as a Gist in Github for anyone to use or edit the code for their own use.

I will be making some fixes for it and release the gist here and update the Firefox add-on soon.

Other than that, I don't believe I will be releasing it on any other web-browser nor creating a repository for it as it'll take too much time to get it approved and create new dev accounts for each web browser.

After that, I do not mind anyone creating a repository for it or taking over the project.

Torn-PDA - the way probably 50%+ of people play Torn (at least those on mobile who wanna use scripts).

Torn PDA is a mobile app built to try and enhance the mobile Torn experience, with a built-in webview browser.

It also has userscript support, essentially meaning it can inject custom code into websites such as Torn. Similar as you would in an extension's content scripts, but without any of the extra chrome API. If you've used TamperMonkey / GreaseMonkey before that's exactly what it is.

I appreciate everyone sharing PDA and letting me know how it works!

I tried working on TornDarkWiki to fix the item box missing a dark theme and release it publicly and properly as a stable version, but the more I worked on it, the more it broke; just your average programming.

Works on PDA

edit:
This works on PDA, as is.
Simply copy paste what is there in the Gist and set it to Document - End

It takes a moment to load each page, it start out in the OG white theme but then changes to the new dark theme on each page load

I really appreciate this script. I use the wiki constantly and this script makes it dark and it's well done. I do wish it worked on wiki search pages though.

Hello everyone,

I haven’t played Torn in a long time and had completely forgotten about the add-ons I created. A few days ago, I came across them again and noticed that people are still using this add-on and would like it to work on the search section. Because of that, I decided to log back in and fix it.

Here is the updated version, which fixes all non-dark theme elements:

Notes:

Unfortunately, I have lost access to my Firefox Developer account, so the Firefox add-on will not be updated. The same applies to PyPI, which means my previous Python TornApiWrapper will also no longer be updated.

I am back again to update the add-on. To simplify the installation process for all users, I have decided to release it on GreasyFork as the single installation method.

This is the only working and up to date version of TornDarkWiki, originally created by me, everything else is outdated.
