[userscript] quick dvds (now works on tornpda!)

    hey yall, tired of ched's 1 second delay between clicks? now introducing: QUICK DVD!!

    features include: spam one button to use all your nerve, distributed evenly across all 8 types of dvds, or copy the genre that has the least queued + stocked
    yeah thats about it lol

    install link (tampermonkey/etc.)






    how to use
    1. install (link above)
    2. open the bootlegging page
    3. if you don't see the button reload the page
    4. spam click button
    5. profit
    6. R+ this thread

    the script has two modes:
    • "SEQ" - copy each genre in order, i.e. Action then Comedy then Drama... etc
    • "LST" - copy the least queued + stocked genre
    if something doesnt work post here and R- or whatever ill try to fix it (maybe)

    no, according to rules:
    The use of scripts, extensions, applications or any other kind of software is allowed only if it uses data from our API or a page you have loaded manually and are currently viewing. They cannot make additional non-API requests to Torn, scrape pages that you're not currently viewing, or attempt to bypass the captcha. If the software you're using makes non-API requests that are not manually triggered by you, it is not allowed and can be tracked.
    this script does NOT:
    - make actions for you
    - bypass captcha
    - scrape from pages you're not currently viewing

    hence its perfectly legal as long as you manually execute each click (use at your own risk though not my problem if you get fedded)

    is this mobile friendly?
    i have done my best in order to support mobile. mobile has a UI with shortened text, and only showing the first letter of the genre. see the "how to use" section for information about the acronyms

    At first I was also questioning the legality, but then I realized that it's basically quick crimes like it exists in TornTools for crimes 1.0, but only for this 1 crime.

    version 0.2 is out!! tampermonkey should automatically update in 1-12 hours depending on your config, if impatient, reinstall

    • no more waiting 5 seconds for it to load - button shows up when there's space to
    • if it doesn't show up reload, if it still doesn't show up lmk
    • save your progress! no need to restart from 1 every time you reload the page
    • also transfers across open tabs!

    One problem with this is that it doesn't account for critical fails, when you should take a break until the success rate recovers.

    Just wondering why does it use up the nerve instantly, but crime skill increases after a delay. What are the mechanics behind that? If you burn dvds manually, each click / nerve use increases skill instantly.
    your crime skill still increases normally - the page just updates itself every now and then

    burning the "official" way updates the page after every time you click it - this script just doesn't bother to update the page

    This update is breaking SFC loading btw. Just on the first load a refresh fixes it but just fyi

    With the new update, in mobile view, the entire crime dashboard is broken, no circle things in the crimes...
    And search for cash is just not loading at all

    i just pushed out another fix in order to repair the mobile functionality. mobile now uses shortened acronyms, which i will update the original post to reflect

    error handling on both mobile and desktop should be improved as well, reducing the rate of breakage
