Lag on travelling page

Thread created on 09:54:48 - 14/07/17 (9 years ago)|Last replied 21:37:41 - 08/10/17 (9 years ago)Issue: Whenever I'm on the travelling page (page with the airplane and skies), my computer fans starts to rev up and computer starts slowing down, scrolling gets clunky, typing gets laggy etc.
Reproduce: In chrome, whenever I'm on travelling page.
Browsers: Seems fine on phone (can't tell). Tried it on firefox, computer fan still revs up, but doesn't seem to clunk up everything as much (text doesn't lag, scrolling doesn't lag). -

As for caches and cookies, extensions or add-ons causing issues: because I never use firefox, that browsers cache and cookies are all empty with no extensions and addons, yet firefox also shows these problems. -

first time posting images hope this works, do you mean chrome dev tools?
The spike at the beginning is me closing my travel screen forgetting to take a snapshot, over 30 seconds JS heap looks to be growing along with nodes and listeners?
Not sure how to use dev tools to look at extra processes....
Going to fiddle with it a bit more, that's one ss to start -

Torn does poorly with animation. Expect the same behaviour on the slots page, the wheel of fortune, the logged out homepage and any other page with animations.Last edited by Mauk on 05:57:21 - 17/07/17 (9 years ago) -

Posted on 08:35:41 - 17/07/17 (9 years ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkJust wanted to note that this happened on an old build of chrome for me, but no issue occurs after updating the browser and removing extensions.
Chrome is really inefficient in the way extensions work, every single extensions injects additional scripts, stylesheets, and network load. E.g an extension for Amazon would often be run on Torn.
I'd suggest the OP tries the following to rule out computer related issues.
1. Do you have an anti-virus? If not see: http://www.techradar.com/reviews/bitdefender-antivirus-free-edition
2. Install a test build of Chrome (your normal browser will be kept) see: https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/canary.html
3. Check your startup items with a tool such as https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
4. Reboot and try the page in Chrome Canary (yellow icon)
Maybe this will resolve the issue, if not maybe some other factors such as computer model / specifications would be useful to have.
