Penetration [2340613]

I want to assure our enemy that we have not gotten our house in order. Termoil ensues. Our ability to mount a formidable offensive has been compromised. Our defenses are down. You should not squander valuable resources in this war as we will be absolute pushovers. Please attend the RW event at your leisure. We also ask that everyone bring something for the BBQ if you can.

TheGoon [1740875]

Will this do?

ImSteve [2691961]

I’d skip the war for that and force Nerdy to come along with me.

ImNerdy [2621213]

No no. From now on, if we have a BBQ to go to.. just cancel the war. No RW for anyone when BBQ.

Shang-Chi [595766]

At least invite us to said BBQ ?
All of haka is invited!

(But only during the first 12 hours of the war... can't take away everyone from the war for too long)

Please point me to where I called someone a racial slur and I will apologize. If you can't then I expect a haiku apology from yourself. Thanks

Is five enough ? I know you're not so smart so I'll repost this handy gif proving "mong" is race related

Oh I see what you did there, you Googled 'Mongol' and then found the racist connection instead of just googling what 'Mong' is as a slang. And then you doubled down and went straight to personal insults from on top of your high horse. Let me enlighten you; Here is someone else's search result; But ya know, you do you boo <3

Sry Nocturne, but mong isn't race-related. It's just slang for a stupid clueless person. It's not a very nice slang but neither is your company's name, which loosely translates to I f**k you mom

Ana [2233184]

Mong: British slur for Asians, implying that down-syndrome condition looks like Asians (slanted eyes, etc) "Mongoloid" was not originally a word used to describe people with Down syndrome. It's a deprecated scientifically racist term brought by white scientists to describe Asian people and justify the idea of of a white superiority against other races. It was later associated to down syndrome because a lot of people who have it have slanted eyes. As for Mongolians, they're named Mongolians, not "mongoloids". I went into depth with a person who reached out to me about the etymology of mong here: Irish_Maniac: Not to start something or anything but your definition on mong is dead wrong considering your mentioning Irish and English i thought id let you know on. Irish_Maniac: Its not a word i use but travellers from where i live and commonly in England use it as a way to call someone stupid. Irish_Maniac: What is the correct term for Mong? mong 2. / (m??) / noun. British slang a stupid or foolish person. Irish_Maniac: Im not disputing it may mean that somewhere you may be correct in that sense but in Ireland and England we use it to call someone stupid and i am only saying because you mention England using it for disability meanings Ana: words have etymology though Ana: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mongoloid Ana: The term Mongoloid has had a second usage referencing people with Down syndrome, now generally regarded as highly offensive.[4][5][6][7] Those affected were often referred to as "Mongoloids" or in terms of "Mongolian idiocy" or "Mongolian imbecility". Irish_Maniac: Ye i do get what your saying and you may be correct in why some places say it but i am only commenting and the fact you said its and Irish and English thing which it is not Ana: Where'd I mention Irish? It's mainly a British thing Irish_Maniac: So in America they may mean what you say. I know Australia, England and Ireland use it in the terms of stupid Ana: also travelers learned this word from the British Irish_Maniac: Sorry in the article you linked it has ireland. England and Ireland do the same things and say the same things as much as i hate to admit that Ana: yeah they mean stupid but that's the same as using the n word on non black people, still offensive Irish_Maniac: I do understand that but maybe when your using your facts try use better sources than saying English and linking Irish site. I know from living here the sites you linked are not trusted sources Ana: oh hmm then that Wikipedia ? Ana: Tbh the word just sounds racial by the sound alone Ana: And Google clearly says it implies Asians have Down syndrome Irish_Maniac: Ye it can be offensive in some languages but in his language it doesn't mean what you say it means which is kind of racist in itself not allowing someone to use how there dictionary works to ours Irish_Maniac: You trust everything you read on the internet? Irish_Maniac: I can insert shit on Wiki Ana: the etymology really matters though Irish_Maniac: N word is different because thats a worldwide phrase known by us all Ana: what is the etymology of the word mong? usually all words have etymology whether Latin or from French Last message: 15:50:20 - 30/05/23 TCT Ana: There's a bigger black population in the west than an Asian population. So it's lesser known than the n word Irish_Maniac: I know that but in their countries they have word that don't relate to yours or mine. I been places and said stuff that people had no clue of because its what i say Irish_Maniac: You ever walk somewhere and use a slang in a different country and they say well what does that mean. Same goes for mong Irish_Maniac: Australia, Ireland and England is stupid/foolish and yes it may have meant something to different places or back in the old old times but 2023 it means stupid/foolish Ana: I think British know full well mong etymology came from mongol and mongoloid, that word had to have come from somewhere. It's not like the word retard Irish_Maniac: For you maybe not and i do understand that but who are we to criticise the word they use and how they use it Irish_Maniac: Like example, I got a friend from romania and the actual color black is spelt neagra Irish_Maniac: But when he says this it sounds like he saying t n word Irish_Maniac: I told him you cant say this and he pointed out that its just the way they say the color black. Do i question him on how his country do things considering its not meant in that way? Irish_Maniac: I do apologize im in no way a smart person and i can tell your very intelligent in a lot of things. I just feel we cant criticize those that have a meaning for a word that is different to our own Ana: neagra etymology actually means black Ana: mong etymology actually means mongoloid. Neagra and mong aren't comparable situations Last message: 16:21:43 - 30/05/23 TCT Ana: "that's retarded" would you say that? Irish_Maniac: No Irish_Maniac: I would say thats dumb or stupid Irish_Maniac: Btw i in no way think women should be in kitchens i mean no offense by that, I am happy how far it all came. I just wanna state that Ana: then you can't use that argument. Even though "intent" on retarded is not to say mental illness but to say something is stupid Irish_Maniac: But its not really the same Irish_Maniac: Retarded is pretty much the same as calling someone the N word. Ana: It's all the same Ana: Retarded is being used a lot too Irish_Maniac: It is a fair point i do agree with what your saying though Ana: frequency doesn't matter to you it seems? Irish_Maniac: Had to think about that one for a moment tbh Ana: that's exactly my point. And retarded isn't even connected to a race etymologically Ana: And everyone uses retarded frequently as they use mong, even more frequent Ana: over there Ana: It'll be a long time to convince people over time about mong Irish_Maniac: Ye but thats because retarded to me does mean something bad may it be an object or person Irish_Maniac: Where mong is never associated with anything of that nature for us Ana: mong is always used in a bad way. Never seen it used positively. Irish_Maniac: No i mean bad way as in racially Ana: retarded doesn't seem racially Irish_Maniac: As far as etymologically goes for a word, I don't count all that stuff because things can change over time Ana: only mong Irish_Maniac: Retarded doesn't seem raciest to you? Ana: thats true Ana: ya, what race is retarded connected to? If anything it's ablest Ana: mong is connected to Mongolians and Asians Irish_Maniac: Ok thats fair too i suppose. It still don't make it right Irish_Maniac: Lets say i find the word retarded a lot more of an insult than mong Irish_Maniac: Whatever the etymologically of it may be, We don't use it for what you say nor do we even think it means what you say it means. It may have meant that at one stage but again Evolution changed all that Irish_Maniac: I mean i didn't even know people seen it as down syndrome till i seen your post meaning some countries believe it is something different to what we believe it to be Irish_Maniac: I do respect how you see things and i guess its just how both sides of the world think. You are smart and know your stuff which is rare Ana: uh it's in the Oxford dictionary saying Down syndrome Ana: The word mong Irish_Maniac: Austral Abbreviation Irish_Maniac: mong 2 / (m??) / noun British slang a stupid or foolish person Ana: that's not 1st result, u had to dig for that one Irish_Maniac: Many i look at tells me what your saying is correct from origin point but slang means stupid/foolish Irish_Maniac: Your right on the origin end i never denied that part Last message: 17:01:51 - 30/05/23 TCT
You're not wrong, but we're not talking about the etymology of mong here. It was used as a slang.

Fun Etymology Fact: the word "bunny" comes from "bun" which is a 16th century term for a squirrel

...

Should I start calling squirrels bunnies now?

You're not wrong, but we're not talking about the etymology of mong here. It was used as a slang. Fun Etymology Fact: the word "bunny" comes from "bun" which is a 16th century term for a squirrel ... Should I start calling squirrels bunnies now?
Oh Chi, you cheeky ****.

Look at me using a safe term of endearment that couldn't be mistaken for anything but a compliment.

Shang-Chi [595766]

Oh I see what you did there, you Googled 'Mongol' and then found the racist connection instead of just googling what 'Mong' is as a slang. And then you doubled down and went straight to personal insults from on top of your high horse.

Shang-Chi [595766]

You're not wrong, but we're not talking about the etymology of mong here. It was used as a slang. Fun Etymology Fact: the word "bunny" comes from "bun" which is a 16th century term for a squirrel ... Should I start calling squirrels bunnies now?

Penetration [2340613]

Oh Chi, you cheeky ****. Look at me using a safe term of endearment that couldn't be mistaken for anything but a compliment. #inclusive

Sorry Penetration, I'm not Mev

Penetration [2340613]

I don't recall anyone ever calling Mev cheeky.
I believe he is specifically a cheekless ****

Hey, that's $100 for every second they've been in Torn!

Ana [2233184]

Are you two boys scared to accept Nocturne's bet? Check my nw. I'll backup every single bet that Nocturne makes, if she ends up losing and can't cover it (she totally can). I'll insure her. why are you so hung up about this anyway, when you're not even betting? or are you feeling the sting of losing to me, when the battle hasn't even started yet? :3 <3
I hope you're ready to cover the 3b 4b in bets...

I hope you're ready to cover the [s]3b[/s] 4b in bets...
sorry, I said I'll cover for Nocturne if she bets, but she decided not to bet 24 hours in advance, so this is not my responsibility. Nocturne voided it 24 hours in advance.

I know that this is a very debatable topic, on whether or not bets are only solidified once the war starts. But with SMTH, bets are always a gamble, because SMTH could decide not to fight 24 or 48 hours in advance. Many betters know that, so they always tend to stipulate "Bet's void if a Deal is made or if one side decides to not fight"

Nocturne is kinda a noob, she doesn't know how to say "Bet's Void if SMTH decides not to fight" whenever she offers up a bet. But that's the unspoken statement, that everyone who's placing a bet, makes whenever they bet for SMTH. I've seen people do this time and time again. That 1 line just slipped her mind, because she's not experienced with Torn, she's been playing for less than a year.

My leader has an RL emergency and ordered for us to not fight. Why the f**k would, the two of us, pay you 4 billion dollars, and be forced to sit on my ass, and let you hit me, and not fight back? What the f**k? I'm not going to pay you 4 billion dollars because of this. I'm sorry but this doesn't count. Bets are supposed to be void when a deal are made or if we cancel a war beforehand.

But really, I apologize for this one. I really wanted to match up with you with a proper battle, but RL emergencies are outside of our control. I mean, I'm totally down to fight, but I'm not going to break orders if my leadership cancels the war. I'm sorry you expected more. But anyway, I heard you guys were going to BBQ and that the Sun is hot in the UK right now, so you're all going to go outside regardless xD You guys would've lost. Be glad I saved you 4b. Unfortunate though. And yes this is my bad.

Merry Xmas!
