    I had an idea recently and am considering trying it. My inactivity is of concern in creating a thread as detailed as the one I am considering. It involves some aspects of standard RPG games, including level, classes, items, combat, etc. If anyone is interested, please let me know and I'll start fleshing out the necessary details. Thanks!

    Hello, guys. I'm just arriving in Torn now. A few friends and I are migrating from another browser-based strategy game that has been online for 20 years and is now shutting down :( We're sad, but thankfully we found Torn where we can keep playing together and developing our characters.

    I was checking out this forum and didn't quite understand how you guys play. Halp?

    Do you usually play exclusively through the forum? My friends and I often engage in a lot of 1v1 gameplay through private messages. There were topics to find gaming partners and characters that matched your character's style. Is there anything like that here?

    Hey Dopamina! That sounds amazing! Unfortunately, not like that here... What you see is what you get. And we play exclusively through the forum (tho we do have a discord, now!)

    You can join in on sandbox RPs - Wood's Tavern and the Mammon come to mind. You can join those any time you feel up to speed enough with the current story to actually write and have fun.

    And then there's more organized RPs like the Zeta which has a set cast that changes rarely.

    Best idea is to PM the original poster of the thread to see what kind of RP it is!

    Some people post want ads in the RP forum, but 100% of the time (so far!) those have been requests for adult RP / NSFW which isn't allowed on Torn...you'll find those littered throughout the rp forum's history, one every few months it seems.

    Welcome anyway! I hope you can find some fun here. And allow me to invite you to join The Backrooms, I'm starting up that RP tomorrow and it'll last a month. :)
