Posted on 02:09:13 - 06/10/22 (1 year ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkIt is very unlikely that I will make one. In fact, there is basically a 100% chance I will not. I am very happy to lend a hand with other's efforts, but I basically cannot stand my own threads.
I used to run a great deal, some very involved, way back before the forum reset, which was in 2014, for those of you not around at those times. I have them all saved somewhere. The only one of that era that is left is Merry Band of Wanderers, if anyone wants to go root through the internet roleplay version of ancient ruins. I wrote that up the day after the forum reset in a desperate attempt to keep the community from puttering out, and it did work for a time. A few years after that there was a dark period where the entire forum was nothing but invitations for ERPs, and I'm glad we've lifted back out that lol.
But now I'm old man rambling. Point is, I don't see myself making another thread, let alone an involved space exploration RP, without some very involved changes to my mindset on the subject. I am available for consultation/ideas at any time on the subject though. -

I'm glad you did what you could to keep the Roleplay forum alive :) And that you're still here! -

Posted on 03:14:24 - 06/10/22 (1 year ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkThat happens... my first one did that too! And I felt the same way - I thought it was an awesome idea (Talking about The Asking Place) but it ended up I was the only one, lol. I got trolled, rolled with it best I could, and then lost my nerve :) Didn't do another one for like a year!
I think luck plays a big part...and doing something people are actually interested in!
PerfectPine is a master of ideas that spark if he ever comes around again! Has a problem with going idle tho... I never really forgave him for dropping off of the Odyssey one he started, lolLast edited by AkiraDawn on 03:17:37 - 06/10/22 -

Posted on 05:40:55 - 06/10/22 (1 year ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkI don't like mafia / war / combat at all, lol - I don't know anything about it AND I don' really care to learn, it doesn't hold any appeal to me really...
Lord of the rings, Star Trek, Dragon riders of Pern, DND anything and everything especially the fae wild. Love that stuff.
There's room for all types here - you start one I'll for sure join! :D -

I know nothing at all about pirates tho! I've seen Pirates of the Caribbean and been on the Disney ride - does that count?Last edited by AkiraDawn on 17:17:37 - 06/10/22 -

Posted on 02:20:40 - 07/10/22 (1 year ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkAbsolutely same! I was lowkey planning to try and start a fully fantasy themed RP here and see if anyone decided to pop-in, but school decided to start kicking my butt before I had the chance. :/
(Might still try this winter depending on what's happening irl. Obviously I'm not exactly active in the RP forum atm though and I'm hesitant to start up again in case things get busy and I have to disappear for a couple weeks at a time. ) -

Posted on 21:39:34 - 10/10/22 (1 year ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkHonestly, I'd rather just play in other people's spots for now. Done that in the past in a more typical tabletop setting, but people just keep on flaking. Gets old.

So, I'm running a couple RPs and I've been waiting for everyone else to post before posting again...and then doing one big long post as the GM in reply to everyone.
But people have lives and sometimes just drop off while others post at high speed (Granny *heart*) and I love that and am inspired to write right away but... I haven't because I wait for everyone.
I don't want to get too far ahead of those who don't post as often. Not sure how best to balance that...
Anyone have any thoughts?
Best to post replies right away and let people show up when they do?
Or does it make sense to just wait until everyone is accounted for (even if it takes a week) like I have been? -

Posted on 23:11:12 - 10/10/22 (1 year ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkThere is no right answer. People getting left far behind may require additional writing to catch their character up to everyone else. Waiting for too long kills your momentum, which is important in maintaining interest in threads long term.
Go with your gut. -

Posted on 06:38:46 - 11/10/22 (1 year ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkYeah, I agree with strange. If there isn't activity, it tends to peter out. I too have RL responsibilities, but as of late, have been able to keep those speedy posts going. :D I just enjoy the RPs that you've created Dawn, and Wood, and Strange, and Mr. Angelo... and all of our players in the RP forum. Let's keep it relaxed and flowing. Jump in, jump out, just enjoy it!
