2024 is almost here... have you made any resolutions? I usually do not, but as I get older, I realize how very precious good health is. "Your health IS your wealth." While many focus on diet and fitness, and that's super important, I'm going to focus on making choices that will help me enjoy the best quality of life in my senior years. I know I should have started on that much earlier in life, but I am admittedly stubborn, Italian, love carbs & sweets, and rather drive a racecar in Torn than run on a treadmill at the gym. LOL Hey, I accept responsibility for it. No regrets. Just aspirations as I move forward. So as I continue to fight this flu bug, I just wish you all the very best for your lives, and thank you for having been part of mine thus far. ♥ Granny

I have two big ones.

I've gained A LOT of weight in the 3 years since the end of college. I was floating around the 250-260lbs range when I entered college, and it stayed there more or less. Since leaving college, I've gone up to 300-310lbs. My first and main goal is to work on diet and exercise, and to lose 50lbs. Or, at the very least, 30 and put on some muscle (Witch says I have a build befitting more muscle.)

I also, surprise surprise, would like to write a novel. I have a loose idea of the story, and I think I am gonna commit to at least having a solid rough draft finished by this time next year. That should give me plenty of time to world build and edit to my little heart's content.

Big goals, but ones that could be life-changing for someone in their mid-20's. So here's to hoping I am a slimmer and maybe more well-written individual at the end of 2024!

Hello all,

I hope this finds you well. Just wanted to keep you all appraised of Wood and Witch's life ventures. Or at least those worth writing home about haha. To begin with, Witch is planning to run a Spartan race, so she's been hitting the Torn gym almost as hard as the IRL gyms.

My goal is to actually write a book this year. I plan to maybe make a Patreon so it isn't just for free and I can be encouraged by the promise of a little $$ every month. I have a loose idea of what I want to write and the overall story, so I plan to do a bit of research and story plotting in the first 1-2 weeks of February, and then start putting pen to paper as a rough draft. I'd like to release a chapter every 1-2 weeks, using some sort of forum for it. Maybe Wattspad or something similar.

I think the best advice for starting is just to go with the flow. If you see a thread you like, see how the other players are moving in that world and structure accordingly. If you aren't sure how to start or if your idea will work, I'd recommend contacting the OP of the thread and asking them.

We are also pretty casual here, so I wouldn't sweat it too much.
