There are many people who like cats. There are many who like dogs. There are a good amount of people who like both. Everyone has their reasons; a cat can take care of itself, dogs are too messy, they are both too cute to decide, whatever. Tell me what you like and why. None of the bland "Cats are independent" "Dogs are too large" Cats poop everywhere". Give something personal to you as a reason.

(p.s. Don't hate on people who don't agree with you.)

Cats are for lazy people, dogs are for everyone else. Jesus **** taking care of dogs (properly) is a lot of work.

Yep. I raised a puppy for guide dogs, training it to be well behaved, suitable for guide dogs and completely healthy (huge emphasis on the mental side) is so much work. Now Im actually getting him back, he qualified but got squished by the guy he was paired with falling on him :P and he's used to being a working dog. Even going for a walk is just a regular thing now so we're gonna have to come up with ways of trying to keep him mentally active as well as physically.

As for cats, I'm happy to meet other people cats if they're nice but in general I just don't like them. One almost killed my mother a few years ago, she was in hospital with septecemia

It's hard for me since I have three cats and a dog, lol. I'm also a dog groomer so I think some of my request clients would hate me if I hated dogs, haha.

My wife and I raised and trained our Lab for urban Search & Rescue. Any type of working dog breed needs mental stimulation. We bought some of those activity mental games off Amazon. We also taught him a few household chores. He loves learning new things.

I am SO glad that dogs are winning. I've had both. Definitely preferred the dog and would never own a cat again.

Agreed. Ever met a Collie that isn't worked? Sheesh. Them dogs literally go nuts without appropriate mental stimulation.

I have a cat but i like dogs too, especially large ones. If I had to pick one, i'd go with cats. I guess i'm just a sucker for fluffy kneaders. I also like how cats are pedantic.

I love my cat. She is 15 years old now and I think I will always have cats. I grew up with dogs, they are ok for me but I will not have one on my own. I think cats are not for lazy people. They demand more attention from you in every way. You need to look twice to be sure everything is really ok. Especially when they only live inside a house.

Um dogs sucks, cats rule.  Since birth cats know where the washroom is, dogs will crap everywhere

My cat is 15 as well. There is never a dull moment in the house.

I usually wake up at 5 am every morning monday to saturday to go to work.

I slept in this morning because i had the day off.

I woke up at 6am with a big fat kitty chewing and licking my ear and purring very very loudly.

He is my furry alarm clock :P

Forum signatures make my eyes hurt so i have turned them off.

    I like dogs.

After living on the south side a few years and having a couple attempted break-ins, we decided to get a Bluenose Pitbull.

He was nearly 100 pounds and loved to play — great dog.

The local junkies took notice and no more problems with idiots trying to break in.
