    It's the shape of the bread, you can make a triple sandwhich with pretty much the same fillings as a hamburger for example, say like a club sandwhich. You get more bread in a hamburger compared to a regular sandwhich.

    I you like you can use the same meat used for hamburgers to make a sandwhich also.

    So if you have a lunch meat sandwich. Just your basic lunch meats. And substitute the bread for a bun, it’s no longer a sandwich but it becomes a lunch meat burger?
    No. That would be a lunch meat roll.

    Another term for 'bun' is roll, ergo, anything you have inside a 'bun' that isn't basically a round slab of ground beef, turkey or chicken, is a *whatever the item is* roll.

    On a sidenote; I've eaten beefburger sandwiches before.
