    So I want to study this. I mean i like cooking but because it's for my house, I just put in dish. But lately I am thinking of make it look nice so I can start posting it them in my social media along with recipe so I won't forget. Anyone care to share tips?

    Do what looks nice. Although it depends a lot on what you are serving. I say possibly practice and take pictures and have people give suggestions upon what to do differently.

    Although I just do it. A lot of it may have to do with artistic vision as well. Being able to know what you want before you do it.


    Are these individual plates or the main dish you are wanting to be presentable?

    Not everything is going to be semetrical though depending on what you are doing.

    It's main dish. Lately I have been doing chicken wings recipes from many different styles. Korean butter-honey, malaysian butter milk, indonesian onions, american bbq, korean snowy, chinese style, etc etc. They all taste wonderful but not really photogenic. I want to make series of them in my social media and sell them as frozen food but it's not looking like other people pictures or in restaurant eventho pffftttttt everyone says mine is better than any restaurant lol. N yeah I did market research and asked random neighbours to taste them. Taste so good but i just put in plate n be done with it. Not look interesting in photo or presentation tbh.

    IE this one malaysian buttermilk chicken wings. Made of curry leafs, evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, a bit of thai chili, butter, a bit of garlic, salt, and chicken powder. The chicken was soaked (sorry idk english word for it) with egg, garlic powder, chili powder, chicken powder, vinegar, salt, pepper, (my little twist to difrerentiate my chicken with others) italian mixed herbs, flour, and corn starch over night in my fridge. Taste like heaven. Super savory, little sweet and hint of chili. Moist but still a bit crispy. But ofc looks like hell. I can't sell this other than my neighbours or fam lol.

    Well i would advise you to update the potato you are taking the pictures with to start, and lighting/contrast is very important as is the plate/table and back ground etc you place them on/in , also instead of being spread out, stack them up to give height, gives the illusion of more, and also maybe a side dipping sauce even for just the photo, and some greenery for garnish is a solid start. If you plan on selling these, most people go with a food stylist yes its a thing and a lot of business pay for this for photos of their products.

    Yeah I been watching video tutorials about food stylist but errrr don't they actually non edible? Like using shoes polisher to create the burnt effect on the raw meat n call it steak?
    Would it be called scam if I do things like that? Lol soz for so many questions.
    Yeah I have digital camera i can use it once I know how to set up in plate nicely lol
