So lately I'm on diet. I wondering what are recipes you recommend that are low cal but won't tastelike garbage and make me wanna kill myself. I don't like raw vegetable at all but I eat fruit daily.
I been eating mostly asian low cal food like pek cam kee (steamed chicken with ginger), steamed silk tofu with white egg and prawn, even chicken feet soup lol. But I wonder what do you westerns eat when you're on diet otherthan silly salad.
I want to be full tho not starve myself to death. Mind you before diet i usually eat 4-6 plates rice a day along with some soup and lauk pauk (google translate says it's side dish but doesn't sound right). N now I only can eat 1-2 plates a day so yeah i am very very hungry lol.

So what do you westerns eat when you're on diet otherthan silly salad?

There are plenty of protein based sources for pretty much all diets including vegan / lacto-vegetarian

I remember eating (in deficit) tofu / soya / seitan as my main sources of protein, topped up by protein shakes that promoted fat burning - ie Diet Whey.

True, I ate a lot of salads, but my salad would be mixed and be different every few days - plus topped up with chickpeas on the side to top up protein and fibre.

Fats like avocado and peanut butter helps too. Even a tablespoon of ghee.

    Water helps promote fullness too.

Bear in mind I was training 4 times a week with cardio at the end and a day entirely dedicated to just going on a long walk.

I went from 108kg to 91.5kg in 4months and actually was in decent shape too.

The easiest is to do a protein, with high grain starch (brown rice, high protein noodles etc) I enjoy Greek yogurt, protein shakes, soups, stirfrys, sandwiches without the bun or you can use low carb tortillas for them and burritos. Try getting on Pinterest and just put in healthy meals. It will give you a ton of ideas. I just pin what I like to a healthy eating board. Then make them next time I go shopping.

I love carbo. Rice is life. Without rice, no point of living.

It's cold here so generally soups for me. A good broth, protein and veggies, with the occasional starch like rice or noodles if you want. It's tasty, filling and generally pretty good with calories if you go heavier with vegetables instead of starches.

Go full carnivore if you want to lose weight and not starve yourself. I put on some extra weight this past winter. I lost 16 pounds in about 5-6 weeks and only have a few more to return to my normal weight.

    I eat:

    Bacon & eggs
    Steak
    medium ground beef
    Chicken
    Sausage

(eat whatever meat or seafood you prefer).

Everything I cook is saturated in butter, bacon fat, or tallow.

I don't limit my portions. When I am hungry, I eat and eat until I am satisfied.

    I drink:

Mainly sparkling water, but also water and milk. I still have my morning coffee (I can't give it up).

Besides the weight loss, I feel better than I have in a long time. My energy levels are consistent throughout the day. I no longer feel like I need naps. I sleep better at night.

I think on keto you can still eat low-carb veggies and some other stuff. On Carnivore, you strictly eat a high-fat meat diet, the version I am doing includes eggs and dairy.

I haven't tested my cholesterol as it wasn't something I was planning on doing long-term (although I might). However, if you search carnivore diet on youtube there is a bunch of people who did and claim their levels are normal.

Thx very much for explanation. I will do research. Yes this diet sounds suitable for me. Maybe I'll be less hungry all time. Again ty

soo.. recipes come from my endocrinologist. I make a lot of pasta dishes. Usually some form of seasoned poultry or seafood (cajun chicken is my favorite), with a sauce made from cream cheese, pasta water, and the appropriate cheese to go with the seasoned meat. I like Cajun Chicken pasta using parm cheese, or a ranch alfredo version with dry ranch seasoning added to the sauce as well as the chicken. I also like to add heavy garlic and lemon juice and add in cooked shrimp for a friendly shrimp alfredo pasta.

Also, since it's sorta keto, I'll fry 6-8 slices of bacon, then fry garlic, onions and cabbage in the bacon grease, season with pepper, sault, and paprika, and add bacon back in at the end. any egg dish is on the table, especially if I can implement some form of veggie or avocado in. As a diabetic, I have learned that I can't go full keto, but my last numbers check had me at an A1C of 5.2, so I'm doing pretty good for a type II diabetic :)
