I'm really sorry you lost your sense of taste, cooking and food is really important to me, so when I lost my taste I was really demoralized. Luckily, I was fine after a month, and hope you quickly regain your sense of taste. I found that temperature and texture became really important to me during that time, so here are my recommendations for you.
Boba Tea- Really nice texture, make sure to get the tea as cold as possible, and the tapioca mouth feel is really nice.
Small Pretzels: Super satisfying crunch, very interesting and fun to eat.
Hot Water and Ice Cream (Affogato): Custard ice cream is the best for the mouth feel, great temperature contrast. Dye the water so it's not clear. I could taste very strong flavors a little bit, so I used extremely strong espresso, but sugar free ice cream because might as well right?
Stir Fry with Szechuan Peppercorns: Veg is crunchy, peppercorns have interesting numbing/spicy sensation. You can omit the soy sauce bc sodium and you can't taste it anyway.
Agar-Agar in Water w/ Food Dye: Unique texture and feel, similar to Jello but more interesting.
Ethanol: Cools down your mouth when it evaporates, very distinct flavor. Everclear sells like 90-95% ethanol, which you can dilute to your liking and drink. Vodka works as well, although I could taste it more with very high proof. Don't drink enough to get drunk, just a bit for the interesting feel. Obviously be responsible and only if you're old enough to drink wherever you live, and don't become an alcoholic.
Loss of taste and smell due to covid.

The worst type too, it’s stripped me of all ability to taste or smell. It’s weird existing like this, Strangely I can still “taste” spice if or at least tell if something is spicy but there’s zero else sensation. Reading these food posts is giving me inspiration for when my taste comes back haha

Worst thing was salted peanuts. Now I love salted peanuts, but with no taste, it tasted like chewing a bit of wood, and by that, I mean part of a tree...
Feel for you...I will never lie to you. What I say is how I feel...

Posted on 18:54:16 - 30/07/22 (2 years ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkSame thing happened to me when I had covid. However, when my sense of taste and smell came back, it was different for about a year. Things I used to love tasted horrible to be. Lots of things smelled weird to me as well, which meant I could no longer eat them.
