    They are WONDERFUL when you bake them! Then you go and sprinkle them with brown sugar and cinnamon and put a bit of butter in them!

    Then I always make them on Christmas and Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving I make a kind of casserole of mashed sweet potatoes with sweet cream, chopped pecans, then when I spread some of that marshmallow cream on top I make little puffs on top, I put little puffs on top that get browned nicely in the oven. On Christmas I make the candied yams which are damn near like sweet potatoes.

    So I agree. There are not a bloody thing wrong with sweet potatoes! :)

    Sweet potatoes are awesome! I cubed some up tonight and roasted them with a little olive oil, kosher salt, pepper, and my own BBQ dry rub then added them to my fresh greens and apple salad with grilled BBQ chicken (same dry rub). Amazing!

    Sweet potatoes are good. We used to have them for Thanksgiving with Butter and Brown Sugar but I can not have them like that any more. So I changed how I make them First you bake them and then peel and cut them into big pieces. Then you roast some chestnuts and take them out of the shells. You can do that the night before. Then put some olive oil in a pan and toast some cumin in it with thyme and cumin and chili powder and turmeric. Then add the chestnuts and then put the sweet potatoes in and put in a baking dish so you can heat them up.

    They are great, in my household we bake them and eat them as desert, nothing added. Though I should try them with sugar and cinnamon as people here suggested.

    A few years ago by accident for Thanksgiving I got some that were white in side. They are so good. They taste like a sweet potato and a russet potato and a bit of a hint of chestnut. They were so good.
