    Hey assholes,

I am someone who absolutely adores coffee, although I try my best to drink in moderation, I cant help it...I f**kING LOVE THIS MAGIC BROWN LIQUID. *SLURP SLURP*

I want to try new brands, since ive been using one brand (Nescafe Gold) for the last decade. So I thought id consult my fellow citizens, some of whom probably drink alot in order to keep up the clicks. And I would also love to know how you guys make your coffee aswell (e.g manually, using a machine, store purchase etc).

Furthermore, feel free to tell me how many sugars you prefer, how many cups you drink, no milk and so on.

If you prefer tea...just gtfo, I dont need to know.

Theres only one rule for this thread:
    - Keep it Coffee.

never use branded coffee. i always buy beans at nearest roastery and grind at home. make it manually, just pour hot water directly, no filter, no sugar, and no milk. usually 3 cups a day, but can have more when i'm doing my photowork.

Mine used to be Carte Noir, but JDE coffee sold the brand name to Lavazza.

They kept the recipe and the production processes and now it's called L'Or.

Best instant coffee around! They also do pods for machines, and beans/ground coffee, but the instant is really good.

Euw... Instant coffee = Heathens! ?
Beans and grind freshly at home is the only way for me.
Brewed in a 1litre french press, I take 1 1/2 teaspoons of sugar in the first mug, and keep topping up once half way drunk so the last of it is basically sugar free. Just can't start the day without a sugar hit.
Milk is for cows (and tea), not coffee!

I make an allowance for one friend only who is allowed to keep a very small jar of devil's dirt in my kitchen cupboard.
I am not an alcoholic - alcoholics go to meetings.

If I'm buying branded Coffee, its usually Eight O'Clock or Van Houtte.

I usually buy locally roasted beans from the coffee shops nearby, but they have been curbside-pickup only for a while, so Ive just been getting Eight O'Clock.

Oh and I mostly make it using a Melita pour over cone, but sometimes I get lazy and use a drip machine.

I'm drinking Ethiopian Shantawene from Deeper Roots coffee in Cincinatti. I get it from mail order, though I think they do have some distribution. I never looked into it because even if it was available locally, when you order directly, they roast it to order, so its fresher.

I make coffee all different ways, depending on my mood and how much I need to make, if I do espresso i usually add some cream and natural sugar to tame it a little. If I french press most likely drink it straight.

As far as brands you can buy in the store, I like Peets Big Bang and Columbian, Gevalia Columbian isn't bad. But pretty much whatever you buy at a grocery store has been sitting around for months. Even Peets you can order directly, they also will roast to order if you do, they're in Berkeley, and sometimes get some interesting varietals.

Nescafe gold huh? You must be Indian or a ********* (like me) :D

I also have a Nescafe gold bottle. But I prefer Davidoff <3 those are all instant coffees, unfortunately. I would love to try freshly roasted beans ground at home. But unfortunately, in *******, it is a scarce commodity.

As for how I drink it; with milk, without milk, and definitely without sugar. I sometimes add lemon juice into coffee as well (it's a thing, trust me) for the benefits of course xD and a few times, in the past, I tried adding salt to cut down on the bitterness after reading an article on the internet. It works. But so does adding sugar and milk xD and no one needs salt unless it is to make food taste better, am I right? :D

And one more very important thing xD I drink my coffee cold xD it just hits differently <3

We're a Nescafe Gold household (west of Ireland) but it's not what I'd call proper coffee - instant never is. I like Taylor's After Dark, and Rich Italian if I am bothered enough to make proper coffee. Doesn't happen often :)

Boil a pot of water, take it off fire, add two spoons of fresh roasted arabica, hand-ground in a brass grinder, return to fire until the foam starts to raise. Take off fire and drink, three to four times a day, hot, black, no sugar, no milk.

thats turkish style, if you're going to try that, you have to grind it up into a super fine powder.
they don't add sugar to it, but serve it with some sweets(biscuit/cookie) as a counterpoint

also to follow up, after i posted last week, i looked at PEETS website to see if they had anything interesting, and ordered some

I love Ethiopian coffee, it is the birthplace of coffee, and they have so many varietals, perfect climate, and knowhow. Can't wait to try it, it's going to roast today and next week is your last chance to order it. Also I checked on shipping, and they will ship internationally, which would be expensive for a single bag, but not bad if you stock up, since it's a flat rate.

Also I like to grind my own, as I do prepare it all different ways, but they will grind it for you however you want.

Cafe Bustelo or any dark roast, add 3-4 sugars and 4-5 creamers. I use a coffee machine, set it up the night before to brew in the morning. I occasionally add heavy cream too. I usually drink 1-2 cups a day when I'm not at college.

Well, instant coffee is good and all but once I started brewing my own coffee it just changed everything. If you do not have the time I recommend cold brew. You can top it off with milk, cinnamon, cocoa powder, vanilla essence, and so many more flavors!!!
