We all love a Sunday roast, especially us Brits. What's everyone's "perfect" roast?

Mines a rack of lamb cooked rare/medium, mint sauce, roasted potatoes with rosemary and goose fat, roast carrots and parsnips / broccoli, leeks and cheese, Yorkshire pudding with stuffing balls washed down with a glass of red or a lager depending on the mood.

Lamb leg marinated in chicken stock and sweet peppers. Cayenne pepper, ground black pepper, rosemary, thyme, onion powder, salt. Brown both sides. Add parmesan. Add saved juices from marinade to slow cooker. Add 3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. Add lamb leg to pressure and cook for 1 hour and thirty minutes. Serve with rice and green beans.

As an englishman, I can honestly say that I hate Sunday roast...

Dull, bland lumps of random meat, with over cooked veggies with so shitty gravy...

    I'll pass...

I will never lie to you. What I say is how I feel...

Isn't it just in vain though? That animal would've been dead regardless, until theres a mass movement that'll actually make a difference I'll substitute some meat products but until then I'll stick to legs of lamb

Maybe cooking lessons and using different herbs/spices? A Sunday Roast does not have to be dull.

Just plain green beans and rice, after that Nigella Lawson style lamb leg?

I think the problem may be the cook in this situation..

Dull bland meat? Who cooked it?
Over cooked veggies? Who cooked them?
    Shitty gravy? Who made it?

The answer to the above questions is your problem, get them sorted and you'll love a roast.
Hungry just thinking about my mam or my grannies food on a Sunday.

    Cry more.

This is the one I just did yesterday.

The cut of beef was a top blade roast.

Had to use the crock pot instead of the cast iron dutch oven this time. Caramelized some onions and garlic and placed in the bottom. Large carrots were halved, then quartered and placed as the next layer. A ring of potatoes around the perimeter and a seared top blade roast placed on top. Herbs are basil, oregano, black pepper, red pepper, garlic and thyme. Cooked on low temperature all day.

The yorkies were made with duck fat. Gravy was made with what was left in the pot after the roast was done.
