OK, to be honest, most of the time vegans take it too far. Psychologists claim that I (carnivore) find them annoying because they threaten my self-image of being a good person. Sadly, said psychologist is vegan, making her claim less robust.
I think there is another reason we (meateaters) think so negatively about vegans. My hypothesis is that we find them annoying, because they are annoying.
Not, of course, the proper vegans who don't push there life choices down my throat. I have respect for everyone, as long as they respect me too. I will cook vegan for you, as long as you don't try to force me into your lifestyle. Those vegans are ok. But they are also invisible.
It's the pushy loudmouths, the people who keep nagging, the annoying ones which we notice. Sadly, that taints the image of a lifestyle which in itself is admirable.
It's people like this, their actions to the exact opposite of what they (presumably) want. I bet there's a lot of BBQ parties in that neighbourhood.... linky, please read, you will laugh

Usually it is the people that have just turned that more tend to be the loudmouths. Where in 10 or so years they probably not be it anymore where they are more so following it like a fad. Sometimes it is not though.
Though I have been a vegetarian all of my life, and it used to be said that vegetarians were seen as too pushy. Though I never tried to push it on anyone and I have found that it is meateaters that are the pushy ones. Where it comes up in certain situations like when you are eating or have to eat with people and what not. where when they hear you are they get so defensive like you are a threat then push on why you do not eat it and say just try it and such stuff.
Another point that has nothing to do with this but more has to do with more so the people that are more new. A few years ago I went to a vegetarian or vegan festival, and they had all this stuff labled chicken this and chicken that.. I am assuming it was supposed to be fake chicken. I hope. I did not eat it I do not trust it. Because back in the 80's people would try to say well chicken is not meat. So I would not trust anything that tries to look like meat.Last edited by DrZed on 21:29:05 - 07/04/20 -

I've heard that before... carnivores are the aggressive ones... vegans are... no you, no you. But... have you actually followed the link?
Personally, I find my aggression (so to speak) is a direct result of people like the one in the link.
It was my (now ex) girlfriend who changed my view. She's vegan, but she didn't mind making me meat if I wanted to. This reduced the tension, making it friendlier and more normal to eat meatless. It helped that she actually knew how to cook a decent meal.Everyone is a murderer.... you just have to meet the right person.

Thing I don't get is why do vegans make meat subsitutes. Point is that they haye meat so why do they replicate it so much. Vacan? Really? f**k off...
I will never lie to you. What I say is how I feel...

I do not get it. I have been a vegetarian all of my life. I do not want my food to look like meat, or worse even try to taste like it. Then those so called Vegan Butchers that Use beet juice to make everything look all bloody. I do not understand that at all. Though I think most of those are turners and not born into it. Where some in 10 years or so may not even be vegan anymore.

Link doesn't work (anymore?) I'm afraid. At least not for me.
I agree that it's annoying when people present their choice as the only right choice. Works both ways though. A few friends of mine are vegan (not the militant kind) and it never fails to amaze me how worked up some people get when they hear person xy is vegan. They react like it's a fundamental attack on their values. They get a look on their face like you just let down your pants and shat right in front of them. As a bystander I have to say it's quite fascinating. -

they are annoying because:
A) They keep insisting on using meat product names for their ungodly (and yet somehow godawful at the same time) vegan products. "vegan milk", "Vegan bacon", "vegan steak". "Vegan stupidity i would add, you got your things, name them you lazy f**ks! Dont steal names.
B) Their overall aggressive phraseology, referring to our food as corpses and the like. As if plant life is not life. Just because it does not have a mouth and eyes does not make it any less live...or dead for that matter. They should see the truth and admit that we, at least, have the decency to kill the animals before we eat them, unlike some unfortunate plants.
C) This whole "holier than thou" attitude. That should be pretty much self explanatory.
D) What sometimes comes with veganism, all this new philosophical and apolitical bullshit. For people that really dislike the (ab)use of animal products, they are really full of bullshit. -
