Let’s face it, most of us have been struggling to make due and when it came to making a meal, you had to get... creative. Egg sandwiches were my go to for the longest time and still enjoy them today because of how cheap and tasty it is to make! What kinds of budget dishes do you guys know about???

I'd say an upgraded ramen is pretty hard to beat, and it can be a meal to have any time of the day.

Breakfast? normal ramen plus bacon and a fried egg
Lunch? Grilled chicken with some green onion or other veggies
Dinner? Shrimp or pork with brocolli or other assorted greens.

Basic pack is like 50 cents in US, but the add ons still only make it like 3$ or less per serving.

    potatoes in every shape imaginable..
also all veggies from the garden.. they come as cheap as it gets.. one pack of seeds can feed a family of four for weeks depending on the variety... example.. i sowed 2 courgette/zucchini plants this spring.. been drowning in zucchini all summer ^^
so whats that.. 10cents for 80 servings? ^^

Sounds like you know how to live on the cheap! Could you imagine all the money people would save if every household started their own crop garden?

There’s a Korean market near me that is an isle filled with hundreds of different kinds of ramen! Did you know there is even a desert flavor?

i do like that its cheap sure.. but also you cant beat the quality of fresh produce from your garden.
the saving could potentially be huge. depending on what u usually eat. if you eat healthy, lotsa veg and fruit... its quite expensive and thus the savings substantial.. i figure a few grand a year easy.. just buy dairy and meat products and the odd bag of flour, sugar etc at least during the growth period..
and thats just from a normal sized kitchen garden.. if only i had a field to grow on.... ^^

Chicken and rice with a can or frozen package of Veg-all

    Boil chicken and remove bones.

Add chicken and Veg-All to cooked rice and allow to simmer a while.

(Any frozen or canned vegetables or meat could be substituted

A can of diced tomatoes is a plus)

edit: I have also added cans of beans

Back when I was seriously strapped for cash I would live on potatoes and organ meats like hearts, livers, kidneys, intestines or i'd go to the fishmonger and get bulk amounts of fish heads and tails for barely anything and make fish soup.

Home made fried rice with chicken/veg curry-Usually the vegetables are grown from the garden so they do not cost a dime
    Ramen Noodles
    Burger-Homemade ones are good

Or you could go old school and forage for mushrooms and berries(Well most cannot do this if you do not have a forest or mountain spot near you) Mushrooms can be made into just about anything you could make mushroom rice,Risotto...etc
