    I've always found the names in the UK unique.  
    Even in the currency which I'm not sure they still follow.

    Farthings, pence, pound, quid, etc.

    Farthings, pence, pound, quid, etc.
    No farthings but the rest still stand. Quid & pound are the same thing. Quid is the slang version.
