In the UK, a simple picture can completely divide the nation in several directions, paired with an equally simple question...I wanted to see if it is different across the USA and the rest of the world too, so no better place to ask, than the Torn Forum :)
So...Torn folks, tell me what you call this?
If you are willing to, also say where you're from, be interesting to know if the answers are the same across certain areas or surrounding areas.
I'm from Coventry, England and I call this a Batch!Last edited by Jonicorn on 08:18:24 - 18/06/19 -

In the US a batch infers you made like a whole recipe worth, at least as far as I know.
A bun you put like a hotdog or burger on. Sandwiches can be eaten on buns too I suppose.
A muffin has a top like a corn muffin or blueberry muffin.
I couldn't find a snazzy poster for the US terms. -

A roll.
Or sometimes a bun. -

Roll, Bun, Bread. Thats what I most commonly hear it. But I don't think I commonly hear it called one thing around here.

A roll is what I would call it, a bap is bigger but flatter, a cob is bigger but in same proportion, if long rather than round it's a finger roll.
A batch to me was when me n a mate went to the bakery by the school, bought an unsliced loaf of bread, cut it in half, ate the soft bread out the middle, then went to the chippie and had chips in the middle. -

No a bap is definitely completely different, we're talking like a burger bun = bap. This is most definitely a roll/miniroll.
