I always love hearing the crazy things that can happen as either the one cooking or even the one being served food so take some time and tell me about the craziest food experience you've ever had!

Told my brother about a tropical fruit called miracle fruit. It's a real thing, and it tricks your taste buds into thinking sour things are sweet. So, two weeks later he comes over W these pills he bought online. Dried crushed miracle fruit that's been pill pressed! So I got the whole family Poppin these pills and we raised the fridge. Lemons were eaten whole and we're like sweet lemonade, plain white bread tasted like sweet brioche, Chedder cheese became cheese cake. My kids were 3 and 5 at the time, and it was a very memorable experiment. I took the rest of the pills to work at the restraunts the next day and did the same thing. Proved how valuable our senses are! Good times.

for the past couple of years I've had a very noticeably increased sensitivity to sour. Mildly sour tastes very sour to me now. So I pinged on your comment. Interesting.

Adding something like a cup and a half of cream to a cake because I wasn't paying attention. Very, VERY moist cake that took forever to bake.

Also squirted a habanero in my eye once, boy that was fun.

Several years ago I used to co-own a pizzeria. The most unusual order I ever received was for a ravioli, banana pepper, black olive, and peanut pizza. Since we had a reputation for making any kind of pizza (within reason), I made it for them. The customer picked it up, and called us about a half hour later and said it was the best pizza they had ever had. I guess there is no accounting for taste.

I think as far as being served food, I once ate a meal in an Austrian Castle while professional performers played Mozart. It was a pretty insane experience for a kid who is very middle class.

As far as cooking is concerned, I think the craziest thing I ever did was use some ghost pepper corn chips as a breading for some chicken tenders. I crushed up a handful or so of the chips, mixed it with standard breadcrumb, and made some pretty spicy but tasty food!

I managed to piss of a few friends when I had them and their families over for caribou and accidentally called it reindeer in front of the kids. Kids went into panic mode over Santa's reindeer which led to bigger discussions.
