I saw an apparition of my dog when I was a child. I was wide awake in bed because my mom was babysitting the neighbor kids and they were loud brats. The door was slightly ajar with the light coming in. I wad mad because I wanted to sleep but it was too noisy. Out of nowhere in what I would call a completely random moment, my dog Rocky flew over the top of the door into the room. He was bluish-grey, had his curly fur and a big smile with his tongue hanging out.

    I was terrified.

This came out of nowhere. I hid undet my blanket for what felt like forever (probably 5 mins) wondering about what I just saw. Literally in full consciousness I saw an apparition of my dog who had died a year or so prior. I hadn't put him on a leash to take him out, and as a result he was run over. Of course I grieved and felt responsible, rightfully so. The guilt was immeasurable. He died because of me. I killed him.

That is a lot of trauma for a small child. It occurred to me sometime after he appeared to me as to why. I was afraid because he startled me and was like nothing I thought could exist - he was proof of life after death right in front of me. The reason I think he came to visit with that big, silly smile: he wanted to let me know it was alright. It worked too, the guilt started to slip away and I felt better, though never guilt free, because he didn't want me to hurt.

Psychology will tell you guilt can do this. It can literally make you see things. Given all the circumstances and my state of mind when he appeared, I choose to believe I saw the spirit of my dog.

Despite this I did not become an instant believer. I questioned everything all my life. "I love you with my whole heart," my mom would say, and I would respond with logic like, "Didn't you leave any room to love my brother?"

    Since then I have experienced the paranormal in various ways. Nothing like the full apparition of my dog, and nothing so pleasant. It seems the pursuit of spirits invites bad energies of some form or another. I won't pretend I know what I'm talking about here, but I can tell you some stories that still give me goosebumps to think about. Some conclusions I have, despite trying to objectively consider alternatives;

    - spirits are a real thing
    - I don't consider them to be the same as a living counterpart. There may be no correlation with our deceased selves and spirits.
    - they seem to be a form of energy which feeds off energy. Not energy as in kinetic, but more like the energy of emotion - fear, anger, anguish which can have a mental and physical draining feeling on a person
    - they can leave permanent marks in their wake
    - they are tied to something or someone; not universally accessible. This tether is often to a time as well as a place.
    - some if not most or all are wholly evil
    - they can be repelled or attracted by your acceptance of them, and I'm aware this is a strong argument for them being inside ones head, which brings me to
    - they can be experienced by more than 1 person at a time
    - they can not affect you unless you invite them too, mostly
    - I wonder if they can reach into our dreams, but the nature of dreams makes this pure speculation
    - they can have a physical influence on the world and create sound, at least through objects, and this is usually represented through a repeating session. IE. Footsteps in the hallway at 2am, nightly.
    - they are attracted to death, particularly deaths which would cause or be from a cause of extensive suffering. Their mark in the location of a suicide of someone young is much more prevalent than their mark of someone old dying of a heart attack.
    - there are signs which indicate their presence: lighting provides less light then it should, the air smells of death (not dead bodies, but illness), the air is sometimes colder, a feeling of additional presence (can be accompanied by a feeling of being watched or indifference, as if you're unseen), a sense of direction of danger presides in my face in the same way my nose can point out north when asked.
    - nothing good comes from seeking them out
    - most people live on autopilot (as a shell of themselves) most of the time. Those who are not self aware never seem to be aware of, or seem to be capable in believing in, any of this.

Paranormal is all fun and games until someone gets a dark entity attached to their spirit.

Thanks for being the first ?. My first out of quiet a few paranormal experiences was when I was 4 its kinda simular to this one. I woke in the middle of the night and I looked around (I always do) but it wasnt just me waking up i had a dream where this girl was standing at the edge of my bed then I would wake up and be in the same dream for about 7 or 8 times then I really woke up and I saw the girl standing at the edge of my bed in a tight Orange and red stripped dress. My first thought was its my grandma (I lived with her bc my mom was in jail at the time) then after a few seconds I woke up and I realized that my grandma was bigger than her by a lot. I hit under my blankets until daylight bc I was too scared to look again but when it was daytime (I could see the blue light from the window next to my bed) I finally looked again and it was gone never saw it again

Okay, here's one experience of many. The day one of my best friends died, I felt it 1,000 miles away.

We had been close for many, MANY years. Like finish each other's sentences close. We had not spoken in about a year at that point, mainly because his wife hated me and made him absolutely miserable over the fact he was friends with a woman. (Like, fit throwing, dish throwing, screaming, just because I sent them a box with Christmas presents.)

I was standing in my shower and all of a sudden, everything on the left side of my body just... didn't work right. I couldn't see out of my left eye unless I covered my right one. My hearing was muffled, but only in that ear. My left leg wouldn't fully support my weight and felt slightly numb. My grip in my left hand was weaker than normal. I freaked out, because these were all possible signs of a stroke. I got out of the shower and went to the mirror to test myself - smile, talk, raise my arms, etc. I had normal responses, but it just seemed to take more effort. I noted the time (8:46am) and kept a watch on myself. It lasted about an hour and then I was totally 100% again.

His wife sent me a Facebook message a few days later. She said my friend had been making his morning coffee around 8:30, grabbed the left side of his head and was dead by the time she got to him. He'd had an aneurysm.

I've heard similar stories from several sources in my life. Parents sensing a childs demise and close siblings knowing when the other died or nearly died seems to be common.

I'm sorry about your friend. :(

I saw a Ghost with my bare eyes when I was 9... My stepfathers family worked for the Maritime Fair.
I was given my own room in my Aunt's home...
There were carnival toys all over the room with only a walking space between my bed and the door.
One night I sat up in my bed instinctively and looked towards the door.
In my room there was a Ballerina dancing in a circle...
I saw her as if she was real... I was horrified, mostly because she wasn't supposed to be there.
I opened my mouth to scream but I couldn't get any sound to come out. I sat horrified with my mouth gaping.
Then I closed my eyes and opened them again afraid she'd be closer, but when I opened my eyes no one was there.
Basically I was scared of a Ballerina.. Lol.

once, during my time dating a boy whose father was a Sensitive, almost medium level. i was living with my aunt, we had just graduated highschool and living away from home has its perks, like staying up all night. while on the computer i was hearing faint music, almost a hum of beats that i could not find the source of. the neighbors were asleep, no noise from their side of the house or from outside when i stuck my head out to listen.i was perplexxed but only became bothered when my cousin, 10 ish, begins to begged me to help him. he doesnt know why theres a child at his window and he is trying to talk to him. we had a habit of closing and locking their window at night, otherwise they will just play around and open/close it. this window was unlocked and open, cousin was scared and didnt want to go back into the room. i called my bf's father over, they both came and he salted the front door, back door, and the window and before i told them what was going on he told me that theres a small boy hanging out in cousins bedroom, he told him to leave and thats why he salted the window, and locked it again. it was just so weird that even before getting the story from my 10 yr old cousin, they had already found the "boy" my cousin had spoke of.

I have something short and sweet. I was about 14, going to bed ready for sleep. As I laid my head on the pillow I heard a voice from my cupboard saying "Let me out, Vargon'. Freaked me the hell out. So I tucked my head under the covers and ignored it. People said I was probably asleep but I'm sure I was awake.

I took my 4th xan. After some time i didn't really feel happier. I started to feel dizzy and i got diarrhea, after a while is started vomiting, then i realized, i had overdosed. I called an ambulance for myself. The doctor said i would have to stay at the hospital for 3.5 days, luckily a nice freeviver revived me out of that situation.

Some reasons my family left our old house :

    - There was our maid having a rock-paper-scissors with an disembodied hand. She left three days later
    - I could've swore i saw a couple with 19th century outfit inside our already century old huge barn (destroyed less than a decade ago). Or maybe it was my imagination. It gave me shivers
    - Turns out, our old house was built over two wells containing dead unmarked bodies. And there was another dead umarked body buried on our old backyards
    - A group of thieves actually didn't want to go stealing from our old house because they said "something tells them to go back"

    How cheesy is these?

I have had a few expeirences in my life....but by far the most scary 2 were...1) we as teen kids on a dare, went into an old set of buildings in my home town, which by the way was also featured on the show Ghost Adventures....anyway went into one particular building and had stuff thrown at us and when we ran outside and looked back you could see a black figure standing in the window....pretty creepy...never been back since...2) hanging out in some caves back home where supposedly devil worshipers used them, on a dare at night....when we were leaving we seen a mass of flames out the rear view mirror of car...once we got home we looked at back bumper of car and seen 2 perfectly burnt hand prints on the bumpers...worried someone was hurt/killed and what not...we checked it out but there was no reports of a fire, or anyone being hurt or nothing from there...super creepy

The rest are more like UFO, bigfoot stuff......who knows

So, I've lived in this house for most of my life. And in the 18 odd years, I've had some ghosts/spirits/however which way you want to call them (not banshees though) come and go. The previous owners warned us that there was a little ghost girl who likes to tickle people's toes while they sleep - I've never actually seen her and things (toys, women's shoes, make up, jewelry) have gone missing fairly often and I have a guess as to who takes them. There's an older dud who likes staring at you around corners or through doorways. He doesn't do much else. My grandma died in this house and stayed here for a while. Oh and there was one night where, while I was reading in bed, a stone crashed through my window, breaking the glass (obviously). No one else heard except for me, I picked up the stone to show my dad. He could see that, but when we went back to my room - you guessed it - the window was perfectly fine. Nothing particularly scary or dangerous has happened. But telling people this is a great way to keep unwanted guests away. XD

Well, I have had a few, to start things off, i join a paranormal club at my old school ( shout out to Andrade polytechnic highschool!!). Our first investigation was a museum that was once a ranch and a asylum if I recall. The minute I walked in there, I saw a ghost orb hop through a window. I told my friend but he kinda rolled his eyes about it. Later on, we were doing a spirit box session and my hands became really cold as if someone was touching it. I alerted everyone there that something was touching me and some believed it while others didn't. From that point on, the night got weirder. My next paranormal thing that happened was that I saw a few more orbs. Then me and a few club members were in what they call "the cellar", I was joking around by throwing a glow stick around the place but the other people in there started hereing whispers, someone tapping them on the shoulder or someone walking past them. I then ( being stupid ) provoked the spirit. I called "if I am making you angry by throwing this around, I want you to make some kinda noise! I want you to make a knocking noise on one of these chairs!!"I then had everyone move away from these chairs ( they are metal btw ) and I threw the glow stick against the wall on the opposite side of the chairs. As soon as it hit the wall, you here a LOUD "TINK" everyone in the room started freaking out, I then apologized for my actions and said I would be more respectful to the spirits there. After that, another club mate was using a ouija board and contacted his grandfather that had past away a year prior to him using it. As we were leaving I felt like a string cut from me and I felt tried and as my friend put it on the ride home, I was in some "drunkin" state that I somewhat recall.
The next thing I am about to tell is kinda personal. So me and my family had moved into a big truck shop and were excited because we had been living in a travel trailer for 8 months with 5 people and 3 dogs ( it was nuts ). For about 3-4 days everything fine. Then one morning I got up and saw a female figure walk across one platform to another and there was a good 6 foot gap between them. I told my parents and they told me they both had seen something similar to what I saw. Then my parents had there clothes stands thrown and started to have there cloths thrown off them. Then, everyone living there started having stuff randomly disappear and reappeare in random places. Then, it gets dark. It started attacking my parents and started making statements we made come true. My dad made a statue about finding something he needed but could not find it. A few days later he found what he was looking for. A day later he went to work and he broke his wrist. We did some research and thought it was called a "jinn" . I then downloaded a app that could communicate with the paranormal. (If you want to know about this app PM me, idk if I putting the app and its creators on here will get me in trouble. If it won't let me know someone and I will reply with the info you want to know if you want to try it out.) I started getting info about some deserving things (don't want to go in detail really sorry ) that were very concerning to everyone. We then had our home cleansed but it didn't leave. It started being more hostile to everyone again. My father then cleansed the house himself which then made whatever evil leave. I still live in the shop and here and there we might see a shadow and stuff still moves and disappears. I have done some digging and think there is something that's not evil but is kinda a trickster and like I said, hides our things.
The last thing I can say I have happened to me is that I was at a friends house which is on the same property as our shop and I had a bag of cereal thrown but every paranormal thing thing that happened there was basically nonscary. Mainly knocks on the walls and doors, feeling like you might have been watched sleeping and ( strangely enough) I had something play with my hair which I did some investigation and found that a young female spirit and a older gentleman were there. Which kinda explained the hair thing lol. Besides that nothing else. If anything else happens will post it here!!

    Here's another of my experiences.

Years ago, I went to a restaurant in New West, BC that's in a historic building. (Used to be the Keg down by the Quay, now it's an Irish pub I've heard?)

We were dining on the patio, and my attention kept being drawn up to a small window on the upper-most floor. I watched the curtain pull back slightly and the shadow of a figure looking out. More than once, I had the distinct feeling of being watched as we ate.

Later on, I excused myself to the restroom, which was upstairs inside the building. While in the restroom, I again felt the sensation of being watched or followed. I called out, looked under stall doors for feet, etc. No one else was there, but the feeling remained. When I went back downstairs, I started talking to our waiter.

I asked what was on the top floor, the sensation of being followed upstairs, how the second floor of the restaurant was unused (still had the tables but chairs were upended on them, etc.)

He laughed, "Yeah, this place is haunted. We can't use the second floor because of it." He asked me at which window I had seen the figure - and when I pointed it out, he told me that area was sealed off by a locked door. No access.

Went home later and did some research and I am NOT the only person to report strange happenings at that location.
