I don't have sleep paralysis but I do usually have nightmares where I try to scream but I wake up from a soft grunt instead. Usually my nightmares are about shootings and crime though.

As I progress with my dream state experiments, I had some serious sleep paralysis events, both ways - I mean not just waking up, but during falling asleep.

When you listen and analyise, it's more funny than scary - but there's a "presence" all the times, mostly dark female shadow, but sometimes a male form, who is FAST, and shifts his shape into some kind of animal.

I still cannot tell if it's something I observe, or something I create. I bet on the creating...

I suffered from sleep paralysis like 2-3 years ago, it happened on and off for about a 2-3 months. The first time I had it started off with me just opening my eyes and not being able to move, at first I thought I was dreaming but then all the sudden I heard a scream like one I never have heard and that's when panic started setting in. I heard the scream 7-9 times and it would've gone on if I hadn't concentrated real hard and moved my pinky finger, I woke up sweating and breathing really hard and couldn't go back to sleep. On the last time I was having it I remembered getting really pissed and in my head said a quick prayer, and once I finished there was one more scream and then it was all over. After that I have never had one again

I mean, I don't know much about that, but if you are performing yoga the body lying flat on its back with arms at sides and legs straight is called 'corpse posture'--

I mean, specualte from there...if you see where I am going.. it is a very powerful  pose and ought to be done moderately as a post workout cooldown

    -cool graphic-

    Dont call it a comeback...

I have suffered on and off when I was younger. One of the worst experienced was when I was a in middle school. I thought I witnessed a boy dematerialize and turn into fog that flowed under the bedroom door. That vision has stayed with me until this day.

sleep paralysis can be explained scientifically:

It's basically when your mind is awake, but your body is sleeping. You are conscious, but unable to move due to your body being, well, asleep. The reason why people see things is because they are basically dreaming of the things they see.

Sleep paralysis is bugging me since my childhood. It happens so often that now I am surprised when I get a few normal nights in a row.

During these ordeals I am pretty much lucid but unable to move and I can make only quiet muffled sounds. Usually I don't see much except some vague silhouettes but I can sense a strong hostile presence of some sort. And there are always some odd otherworldly hands involved... like skinny little white (but strong) hands touching, squeezing or even punching me.

Over the years I developed an ability to fight off the paralysis if I sense it early enough... This is not even a big deal for me anymore, I just wake up with thoughts like "frak that crap, not again!" and I just carry on with my sleep after that.

Of course, if paralysis escalates and overpowers me then my night is pretty much ruined.

I am familiar with a bunch of "scientific explanations" but any of these doesn't sound very scientific to me nor they explain a single thing.

With bleeding inside the head there is a metallic taste at the back of the throat.

Hi there, I don't think that lying on the back can cause night terrors or sleep paralysis. If you are facing this issue you need to need to set a sleeping time for you and you should avoid caffeine before sleeping. I have also heard about professionals who are expert in curing night terrors. My friend was suffering from night terrors and he visited to http://www.martine-voyance.com/tarifs/ who helped him in curing night terrors.
