The UK part of my faction always gives me shit for being a classic American gun enthusiast lol.
Then my American friends give me shit for not owning firearms that are tacticool enough to shoot the tire of a moving car at 2000 yards. I have an AR but honestly figuring out what optics to put on it is overwhelming to the point that I almost never use it. Most days that I go out I find myself shooting .22 rifles or practicing with my carry.
I primarily collect nowadays, honestly. There is not a damn thing I own that is cooler than my 1897 Italian Carcano with a carved stock (even if it also shoots about as well as you'd expect for something 125 years old)
I like guns and live in the US, anybody else?

Thats pretty cool man, I just recently stuck a red dot on my sig365xl just to have a pistol with one but it primarily sits in my safe looking nice, I mostly shoot my edc which is all stock. The AR I have just has flip up sights and a red dot cant really go wrong there IMO.

Really quite glad there's no need for gun ownership in the UK.

Ah, that's the thing about knives. You can attempt to outrun them. Less so with a bullet.
And additionally the people being stabbed - they tend to hang out with people who carry knives. -

I carry a knife daily, I can run a firearm better than over 80% of the global population and I can dodge bullets if neccesary.
While I consider using a shotgun hacking, I do not understand how anyone that has ever fired one could reasonably say they do not like them.
I do not trust that guy.
Also, the only person that would ever say there is no need for a weapon is someone that never waited for somebody else (cops) with one to show up while being attacked. -

Totally agree. They're a great investment as well and don't really depreciate in value.

I just bought a small handgun for close quarters in my home. I'm really quite pleased with it. It's a standard arms Thunderstruck model. Double barrel .22 magnum rounds. Hollow point of course. Perfect for a woman with small hands, fits in my purse and under the pillow. Trigger is a hard pull but probably just as well lol.

I don't care for .45
I have small hands and the kick is too much for me.
First handgun I ever fired was a .44 magnum and that was a disaster. -

British rifle enthusiast here. Never been one for private ownership (cba to do the paperwork, fees, shit like that), but been firing UK military weapons since I was 14
Kinda sad the firearm scene isn't so big over here, but I understand the reasons, and kinda like the laws we have in place to prevent private ownership where there is no need for it -

I'm sorry but you had your hands on rifles since you were 14??????????
WTF? i'm missing something here. wtf? the closest i've had is an airsoft
experience in Worthing.
If you're on about live weapons then how in the actual... what? -

I was an Army Cadet lol.
Was on a shooting team at 16 firing .22 rimfire from a modified Enfield, 5.56 from an SA80 and it's LSW counterpart (both live and blank), and 7.62 from a Parker Hale Target Rifle.
(All NATO standards)
Was fun, i miss the experience now I'm no longer a "youth". Was an amazing experience that I'd do again in a heartbeatLast edited by BritishBenji on 06:06:27 - 30/12/22 -

I have been using firearms since I was about 6 years old. Used for hunting anyway. Granted it was also just a 4-10 when I was that age.
