Hey there guys. I would like to thank all who are posting here. I'd like to make this a little bit more exciting by stating that I love cars. The Thrill of the speed and power. The magnificence of an overwhelming feeling in the pit of your stomach when you push a car to well over 150 mph cause you are not afraid of the 5.0 and you can piss in your pants if you have to, without feeling embarrassed! I'm that guy, although I'd rather piss on you! after I beat you in a race, even if I'm driving a 1947 Crossley...

Here’s my daily, a 2019 VW Jetta GLI
    - APR Stage 1 High Output ECU flash (93 AKI/98 RON)
    - APR DQ381 TCU flash
    - CTS intake
    - Mufflers and resonator removed
    - G-MAX AS/05 tires
    - EBC yellow brake pads

About 40,000 miles and it’s already on its second differential lol I’d say it’s doing well for a VW

    Thank you!

Sadly it's been down'n'out for the majority of the summer.

Had a lifter go which took scored the hell out of the lifter bore.. took out a rocker.. the cam.. the crank.. pretty much everything lol.

    This means REBUILD TIME!

    Scored an L92 for a good price. Going from a 6.0L to a 6.2L

In the process of putting the new build together:
BTR platinum .660" lift dual valve spring kit
    CHE trunnion upgrade kit
    King-xp Main and rod bearings
    Clevite camshaft bearings
    Cometic head gasket
    GM "caddy racing" lifters
    BTR Red Hot cam shaft
    Melling high volume oil pump
    Speed engineering long tube headers
    Solo performance "street race" catback

Currently have both heads dressed, and we're working through the trunnion upgrade.
I'm probably not going to get to drive it before the first snow falls :'(

This is pretty sick. How long do you think it will be before it's back in action?

10 days later and the motor is built. Had to buy a new oil pump. Didn't think about it but the one from the blown 6.0 is full of metal, grabbed the same high output Melling unit (mel10296 if anyone is curious) and I had to buy stupid DOD oil plugs, and honestly waiting for them was worse than anything else as they took forever. The motor had DOD/AFM originally, because I deleted that I need to plug the oil channels that would typically be used when in AFM/DOD mode. Simple things, just little metal plugs, 8 of them. Took forever to ship.

Oil pan is going through a deep cleaning process now to ensure no metal is left in it. I should just buy a new one, but I'm trying to save a little bit of money.

Ignore the trashed valve covers on the shiny clean heads and block lol. I will eventually paint them or replace but priority now is getting the motor in the car, getting it tuned for the new motor, and cam, and then getting the car ready for winter storage.

Upgrades I plan to do over the winter if I don't blow all of my money on dumb stuff:

    • Precision Industries Vigilante 3200 speed stall converter
    • TCI LS Lightweight Flexplate
    • MightyMouse Catch Can
    • Tru-Cool 40k trans cooler
    • Performance Design XS LS3 Intake Manifold

    Here’s my daily, a 2002 BMW 5 series E39 530i
I've bought it a year ago and besides some little maintenance it is running great so far, it has been driven for around 194.000km/120.000miles so far, me contributing 10.000km/6.000miles of that only haha

My first car "as an adult" was a Jaguar S-type 4.2L. Loved that car, but after 10 years of owning it (by that time it was 15 years old) the body had started to rust. So I picked up a 5L Jaguar XFR. I will try to keep this car until electrics (and their infrastructure) is standard. If that doesn't happen in a reasonable timeframe then I might opt for a hybrid. So I anticipate driving this XF for another 5 years.

If you haven't tried a Jaguar yet....give it a consideration. I have never felt so loved by a car's interior as I do in a leathery Jag. Actually, I sat in a Maserati once and that felt more luxurious.
