I was just curious if anyone else has any projects vehicles they are working on since a lot of people are quarantined at home and maybe now have time to finally get around to working on that project vehicle they have been putting off. If you are like me I enjoy hearing about other people's projects and how they progress so lets see some pictures or stories involving your projects. Plus maybe breath some life into this abandoned forum category.

Mine is a 1988 Toyota MR2 I purchased from a super nice lady down the road from my home.

It had been sitting for around 8-10 years outside. It has rust holes and was i knew it was going to be quite the project.

I purchased the car for 200 dollars and towed it home to start digging into it.

Interior when I first purchased it!

The passenger seat :X (but I replaced it since. :)

I first worked on getting the motor running again and changed all slimed converted fluids, threw some new cheap tires on it and fixed up a few things like the back window to get it drivable again.

    Older picture of engine bay

I picked up a few OEM used parts from someone I met on facebook that had a parts car and was able to change out this passenger seat that had seen much better days, along with a few other bits and pieces I had that were missing or broken.

    Trunk Before

Trunk After (stilling have to cut and patch the rust holes and reinstall the carpets.

The Frunk was any better :[

I have since Cleaned it up a bit more and have driven it around the block a few times. I still plan on cutting out the rust holes and welding in some new patches before I get busy with the rest of the body work and repainting. It's driving pretty great and sounds pretty good as it is.

Most recent picture with new tires and repainted rims and some of the exterior C pillar trim removed for now until repainting.

Thank you for reading and let me know if you have any questions or comments about my project and I'll try and post a few more updates as time goes on. :)

This is taking a lotta work but it's gonna be worth it

Edit: Went into the trunk and the dude who scrapped it tried to put his own subs in and fried the electrics

That's amazing! Hopefully things didn't get to mangled from hitting every tree in woods.

I would love to see some progress pics and updates or any plans you may have for it going forward.

Had some time this weekend to temporarily convert this toyota into a swiss variety XD

I already cut templates for most of the holes and started trimming them out of good sheet metal from the extra trunk lid i have that was no good.

Welded up my home made replacements patches last weekend. All cut from the original trunk lid that had a rusted out hinge.

Not the prettiest welds but after grinding them down they look pretty good and smoothed them over with a little body filler.

get a joggling tool, it pots a small step into the metal so that once you grind down the welds the plat you welded in sits flush with its surroundings, looks a lot better than using any filler, you cat take it back to bare metal and wouldn't know until you look at the other side. Saying that she does still look good and I can't wait to see the end result, they did that generation with a supercharged option which is easily retrofitted, wether you choose to find one or not you will still have fun.

That's really good to know, maybe next time I try some welding body work I'll get a joggling tool to weld seams together better. I would love to have a supercharged version of this car along with a standard trans but these cars are getting much harder to find in decent condition. Maybe the next project car :)

Don't know if this still lives(last post 2 months ago)

Gonna buy a 2001 seat ibiza cupra 1.8t at the end of this month and planning to fit a audi tt 1.8t engine into it with a bigger turbo and remap.

Base car has around 190.000 kilometers(118060 +- miles for you imperial guys out there) on it, always been owned by one guy that kept it completely original.

So far the car will cost me 2600 euro Wich is not bad for a car like that, they're becoming rare to see on the road.
Most ibiza cupras you see today are the round beetle bug shape( Wich I really don't like) and the early one is the more square one( looks waaay more aggressive than the newer models).

My car before this was the same model btw but I had a accident in a parking garage when I went out for dinner nearby with my girlfriend.
Some guy in a brand new audi A7 backed up with full acceleration and parked his ship in the side of my car, totalling it completely. Worst thing was that his car was a rental bc he was a Korean working for samsung on a business trip lol.
So the next day( maybe even the same day) he got a brand new one and I got stuck with a totalled cupra :(

Excited for my new project though :)
0-100km/h I did around 6,5 seconds with a remap to 180 hp, could push it further but there would be a lot more wear on the engine.

The Audi TT 1.8t. Engine is standard 180 hp and can be remapped to 220hp believe + with a bigger turbo, some other cool trinkets and a really really good time I could push it to the 270-290hp.
Good thing the dad of a friend of mine is one of the best chiptuners of the netherlands and gives me a good discount on parts and the chiptune.

Gonna drop some pics when I've made some progress :))

They're working on a shelby daytona cobra, sadly a replica though. Would be a sick 20m car though hahaha

Visited my new project car and it's ready to be picked up at the end of the month :))
    Getting everything ready for pickup.
Has surprisingly almost no rust so I guess this car was stored in a closed shed or garage.
It's in a fully original state except some exterior changes.

Don't know what they were expecting with the cheap sticker/wrap on the hood. Will have to remove that and look how damaged the paint is underneath( probably really damaged as the glue has penetrated the paint bc how dried out it is from the sun/heat).

Will also remove the shading from the rear window Wich has alot of air bubbles, don't know if this is because of the heating in there or bc it was a amateuristic job.
Will consult a wrapping company if this is possible with heated rear windows to put shading bc of heat shrinking and stretching.

First test-drive was really good, some vibrations on the steering wheel but probably one of the tires isn't inflated fully( hopefully). They will also put a new battery in there as the one in it isn't in good shape.

So far so good, a few attention points but no biggies(so far).
Will drive this car for a bit to get all the points come forward, and then move on to the build.
