This is exactly what happened to me about 4 years ago... was minding my own business driving down 95 in Baltimore, when suddenly I felt a bump... the next thing I know I am sideways looking at the grill of an International Harvester semi... being pushed down the road for what felt like eternity, and thinking I was going to die... I was pushed for about a mile. I was not hurt thankfully, but my car was ruined. 14k to fix a stupid 2011 Hyundai Elantra that was worth 18K brand new. My car was also black and very low to the road just like the one in this video.

I now drive a tall BRIGHT RED SUV... because trucks can't see these little dark cars.

    What is your accident story?

My cousin and I were driving through a intersection in a pickup truck and some doped up crackhead in another pick up t-bones us. He was going full speed, hit us on the right side which is where I was. Our truck spins 4 times before hitting a light post and knocking it down. The truck stops on it's side and we climb out. The truck is nearly bent in two.Thankfully we had our seatbelts, we had a couple of sore spots but overall we were fine. Sometimes though my left hip hurts from time to time, it might of hit the armrest in the middle of the driver and passenger seat.

Got T-boned while driving with a friend, I was in the passenger seat. Our vehicle got pushed through the wall of a building.

Cracked the windshield with my forehead, which was awesome.

I remember the EMT's looked pretty shocked that I was alright, and had a bit of a smouldering yet suppressed amusement when I said I was a-ok except for a tiny scratch on my elbow - Don't suppose that big fancy truck has any bandaids in it? (While pointing at the ambulance).

Moral of the story, wear your ****ing seatbelts, I probably woulda' died elsewise.

I wrote off my Audi A4 in May. I don't remember anything really, incredibly lucky especially it being on a 4-lane highway/motorway, and my car rolling on it's roof at least once. Just glad no one got hurt. Not sure how I was able to walk out alive and uninjured except for minor scratches. I know if I was in a cheaper built car, I might not have been so lucky.

I've been rear ended a few times with minor scrapes and bruises to my vehicle. However, I'm a first responder and I've been to a lot of crazy MVA calls with casualties, things that can happen to anyone. Dead animals, splattered guts for 100meters down the highway, peoples throats sliced by soda cans, clutter underneath the drivers seat that didnt let him hit the break.... shit's not cool.

It takes 2 idiots to get into an accident, not just one. Please drive carefully. You are, after all, driving a weapon.

    Two idiots?

With all due respect, that is completely wrong.

I was just driving down the road. In my lane. Not speeding. Not changing lanes. I was rearended, and pushed sideways into the path of the truck. Due to the low center of gravity and light weight of the Elantra I was driving I was just pushed down the road. Not my fault at all.... maybe the other person you are talking about is the engineer who designed either the truck or the car or the road system?

Also, plenty of idiots on the road with cell phones, and under the influence of substances, and they cause plenty of accidents all by themselves.

Sorry, but sometimes it only takes a single idiot to cause an accident.

Accidents are unintentional and have multiple causes.

It can happen with zero idiots, although being an idiot adds one or more causes.

I and the people around me have been in multiple car accidents and near-accidents. People have died.

Once I overslept and was almost late for work. I was 19. I was tired and stressed. The road was bad with severe unevenness (even in the summer), bends sharper than the speed limit and deep icy tracks. It was snowing sideways with reduced visibility. My car had worn suspension, completely worn out shocks and old winter tires. I was a noob driver with only a few 10 000 km of driving and low experience in skidding.

I didn't want to speed so I drove below the limit but pushed it in the bends. Halfway was the one of the sharpest bends that also is a crest witch creates a bend much sharper than the visibility guides. I didn't brake enough before. I felt it as I entered the bend. You can't brake and steer at the same time on ice, there isn't enough friction. If I braked I would have left the road straight ahead. At 70 km/h with small and smooth steering I made it through the bend. 50 would have been fast.

I straightened the steering, then I felt something. The rear was moving sideways. Just a few cm, but I was too drowsy and inexperienced to correct the skid. On the third or fourth return skid I was 90 degrees sideways travelling almost along the road still at almost full speed.

There was no oncoming traffic. The car touched the plowed snow after a few 100 meters or so and spun around but stayed on the road and stopped.

Many things could have been different and the accident wouldn't have happened. I could have made many different desicions before and during the drive, had a better car, the road could have been build without optical illusions and bends suitable for the speed at least in the summer.

I was driving home after working the early shift, minding my own business but half asleep behind the wheel. About a mile from the house there is a hair pin curve followed by a sharp dive. It had been raining. There have been many accidents there.

I cleared the curve, saw a kid on a dirt bike coming at me in my lane. I slammed on my breaks and swerved. Both my wheels left the road, I traveled about five feet on the mudder shoulder, slammed into the drainage pipe under a drive way which destroyed my passenger side wheel and over corrected the wheel sending me over the median to the other side. The engine came up through the dashboard and broke right ankle at the joint.

12 pins, two plates later I'm sitting here out of work.

Ah! My worst accident was when I hit my car to a pole as was drunk. A good Los Angeles DUI attorney from http://www.duilawyerlosangeles.com/ got me out but learnt my lesson. Thanks heavens, didn’t hurt anybody that night. I am not going to repeat it again ever.
