    Nola [2103158]

Former drag racer, but I don't have access to a car anymore.

    -gUNz- [984073]

Drag races @ track(s) or on the street? []

And if it was on the street, did that have anything to do with no more vehicle access?  I know some states (Cali) have had to take a really hard line on street racers.  To the point where there are some pretty ridiculous rules on the books regarding after market parts and modifications. [:tired:]
Both. I broke my leg in a car accident in June. So I've been recovering.

This accident had nothing to do with street racing or drag racing. Just an idiot on the road.

Aww man, sorry to hear that!

We have plenty of those here (I suppose any huge metro area does, lol)

Most recent accident was some dipshit trying to merge into my Tundra with his Malibu... I won that battle []

Mainly because I saw his ridiculous lane changes and had a solid grip on the wheel.  If I'd been more relaxed he might have pushed me into the retaining wall.

I dunno why some people feel like they have to TOSS or SLING their vehicle into the lane they want to go into. [:dizzy:]

Of course it couldn't have been the left side (this was the 3rd incident of someone hitting the right front corner).

Ridiculous 11k+ billed to State Farm (who are TERRIBLE to have to deal with by the way) and she's good as new.

Got my race license for the motorcycle and do track days a couple times a year, Honda CBR 1000RR with a few mods, and technically still street legal.... racing on a track is the MOST FUN YOU CAN HAVE (with your pants on)

Drag strip twice a year to settle some bets with friends, i'm a 10.11 @144mph without straps and no changes to the rear shock sag/compression settings.

What straps?  Do they make you strap onto a bike???   I've never done much watching or reading up on motorcycle drag racing.  I see the occasional "bike smokes xxxx" (insert random "muscle" car here) and the even more rare "xxxx smokes bike" vids on YouTube but those are too apple/orange for my tastes... the machines are too different for any of those vids to mean much of anything xD

Fork straps, it lowers the front suspension so it lowers your angle of attack and makes it a bit harder to wheelie.. basically you can put more power down faster in the first 60-100'.

Something you would only do for a dragstrip, not great for turning.

"Do they make you strap onto a bike???".... nah, but when you get to a certain class you need to attach a tethered kill switch in case poop happens.

check out YouTube for the H2R.... that bike is a BEAST and eats supercars for snacks !

Not a competitive racer, but go to closed tracks, etc. Racing with friends, if that counts.

370HP on my Hemi, stock. Lots of fun

    MoPar grrls rule!!

MoPar or no car for me, bitches.

The 2 mopars I loved and owned were my 1972 Challenger with a 340 bored out .060 over, mild cam, A-833 4 speed gearbox with a Hurst Pistol Grip shifter (it's the only car I've given a handjob to) and I kept that Thermoquad carb tuned for proper feeding of the pistons. It was fast and handled mountain roads like a cat despite the antiquated suspension. Well, handling depends on driver skill...another story.

My 2nd fave mopar was my stock 1969 Charger. Slapstick automatic with a 440 Windsor. It was the track car at Fremont Speedway before it closed down. I have raced both cars but nothing legal.

Challenger was awesome for mountain roads and the Charger was great for drag racing.

    I'm Sorry

So... stopped by the local Ford dealer the other day to pick up a vacuum line harness for my son's Expedition (dry rotted hoses caused vacuum leaks and that FREAKED out the ECU, ROFL!)

Had to snap a quick pic of this baby:

    And LOOK...

    ...it's on SALE!!! []

    --

Best part... I sent the pics to the wifey... not only did she NOT say "hell no", her reply was: "You need? More like I need!"

Good thing it's not her color scheme.  She prefers the classic Shelby blue and white. :D

Oh... Elle* is expensive for the US too!  Nearly double the “average” new car price.

2018 car prices (stupid long link)

It’s twice as expensive as some three bedroom 2,000 sq foot house in the Midwest!

Houses in Kansas (even longer stupid link)

    []

    * Elle is a modern shortening of the name “Eleanor” from the “Gone In 60 Seconds” movie(s) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eleanor_(automobile)

I soooo... NEED this for my work commute!  Wouldn't get me there any quicker, but it'd be a hell of a lot more fun xD

    Fav parts:
    • OMG the suspension travel! [:love_chemistry:]
    • And when he throttles the throttle to load/unload said suspension... [:love_chemistry:]
    • The firepit! []
    • The huge jump that finally managed to bottom out the suspension! [:hushed:]
