    Alien [2052982]

We live inside a blackhole, and are racing towards the singularity. We are moving at an exhilarated rate which gives the illusion everything is moving away from us at a faster and faster rate. In fact the entire universe is collapsing. It's okay though because we are also just a computer simulation, and live in the matrix.

After binge watching youtube docs this is my conclusion.

    Dire [2091491]

Pretty damn close imo. But i wouldn't be so sure on the collapsing part.

Everything here is oscillating, On average there is zero movement, But it gives the illusion of perpetual expansion and contraction :)

It is my belief that the universe is doing very similar trickery. And that even time is a static singular existence.

So we don't move with it, We surf a wave of propagation on an oscillating, yet static medium.

Gravity leaves black holes fast enough to 'capture' light.

Things can't move faster than light. But wave propagation isn't real movement

    Pinkie [1886343]

How would that explain red-shifting and stuff that usually is pointed towards as evidence for expansion? []

    Dire [2091491]

There would have to be an extra spatial dimension. Which would give the "movement" properties that "confirm" it as movement to most.

It is my belief that they would just exist as another more convincing layer of illusion....

For example, No other moment than now has ever been experienced. The past and future do not exist in the same way the present does. The past only exists in recorded information and the future only exists within a field of information containing multiple possibilities.

If only a single static moment is all that can ever exist then "movement" is an instantaneous jumping from static state to static state.. Like a videos frame rate. We perceive movement as fluid on a video, We perceive movement as fluid in reality...... Red-shifting appears fluid,... but i believe it is successive static information and therefore doesn't prove what it appears to prove. In the same way videos don't prove something is moving as the video is only made up of static images..... but to many they will say it proves movement :p

The past is just a older present :)

Present is solid, things are able to exist in it. The past has no matter, no solid, things are unable to exist in it. We assume the past keeps its properties, but unfortunately all tests and measurement suggest that all things in the past literally cease to exist :p

Except in terms of recorded information. You may have been in the past, but you are not there now :)

I'm pretty sure this thread started off as a joke, so I don't know if your replies are serious one's or just an addition.

However, if you're serious I'd love to engage! I'd feel silly doing so and then it boiling down to "I was joking around lol"

    Dire [2091491]

I love quantum mechanics, It is my belief that the specifics are very difficult to define. But the ramifications and certain factors can be simply expressed with analogies and metaphor. I believe the original post was put in a joking manor (and a little too definitive "We live inside a blackhole") But when taken in terms of possibility, OP is clearly talking high end physics and i would say that they have an above average understanding of some of the awkward concepts.... :p So no, I'm not joking. I spent years trying to discern relevance from some very simple equations..... they did not seem simple then!!!

High end physics is like a drug.... Knowledge is power, that power can be quite euphoric... I'm kinda using this game to deal with the side-effects/comedown .... keeps my mind busy without some of the intense stress it experiences with ermmmm "reality deduction"
Well, I can agree that qm is pretty fantastic and very interesting in how it seems to work and how things seem to be []
Especially with the weirder stuff and it's possible implications.

How are you defining high level physics though? Since I'm sure we could say stuff like basic mechanics is low end as it's a starting point but still. Also, the whole physics as a drug.. it's pretty great but I don't think it's that []

Dmt is released naturally. It plays an integral part in dream, imagination and visualizations.

It is a drug, it is naturally released/used by the brain and it is an integral tool for many theoretical physicists :)

Before the big bang all of the energy and matter from another universe was sucked into a blackhole. The singularity does not actually exist. Instead there is an finite point. When it could not get any smaller the big bang happened and our universe was born. This process repeats itself creating new universes. Hence we live in a blackhole, and there are other universes inside blackholes in our universe or something like that. I need to be stone before any of this stuff starts making sense to me.

yeah i am hearing ya but, where did that energy from other universes come from, and rinse and repeat, see what i mean? like, what was the REAL beginning? things cannot just appear from nothing...can it?

There is arguably .... literally... nothing better to do than attempt to discern How/Why things exist :) It is the pursuit of an absolute understanding :p

It is commonly believed. There is evidence to suggest it... and it is seemingly... test-ably present in many many living things..... The "reported" effects of taking synthesized DMT either via smoking or ingestion with a mono-amine inhibitor.... are seemingly states of waking dreams.... but i have only ever personally experienced these things through naturally occurring scenarios. Never tried the synthesized stuff.... but if it is anything like the things i have experienced.... it is a double edged sword to be quietly revered, respected and not to be messed with :p

Yeah I read that article. The claim is that very low levels are produced at one point (not enough to provoke a reaction) and that they don't have evidence to make further claims.

And I haven't yet seen any other evidence despite searching a little.

(Also, that last bit is anecdotal and can't really be used for evidence itself.)

I mean, you  did make claims about physics and the like []

And to make a claim in physics usually requires evidence. But okey dokey lokey. I'll leave it at that.
