Almost dawn.

My sister and I are all set. Just waiting for the car that Jake borrowed yesterday, and we are off to Torn City. Heard its an amazing new city right about north from here... Or east. A lot of people speculate it so.

My friend Gabe simply said — "You will likely fit in here. Mostly with sharpness like yours you'll have that business you have succeed. Just need to get it established in this city."

Me and my sister run a fashion business...but all of the ones we sell are only counterfeits. Products that can be confiscated at any moment, and the seller jailed. Had we not been careful of our sales, we could've caught a mole...





Well, we managed to make it work for an entire year just through careful customer service... Though I wonder what Gabe means by 'You'll likely fit in here'.








The car started to sound outside, engines roaring...

"Lori, Jake's here."

"Yeah hold on a moment. Just need to make sure nothing is out of place."

"Be quick. I don't want to get caught in traffic later."







I carefully checked all the items in the boxes, and made a list of the things inside. Millie wouldn't touch lists at all. She is the marketer for our business.

I on the other hand supply the records, manage suppliers all back office work. Got to say, it's not enjoyable to do but one of us needs to do it.

Just as I finished the work to be done, I prepared myself from carrying all these...

"Hi Lori."

Oh it's Jake. Good timing.

Jake is your typical go to guy when it comes to special favors and tasks...that's why me and my sister keep him on our retainer.






He said that he enjoys helping the both of us just because we're his childhood friends too... But I'm told once that Jake is after something much more...



"Seems like you need a hand there Lors."

Before I could react, he brushed past me and picked up the boxes like they were at the same weight as his soccer balls. Well just by looking at his physique, a manly one at that, there's no doubt that he could do it.

Heck he could even easily carry me up too and not complain one bit.

"Thanks Jake you're the best."

"I do it for you." He said right before he winked.

Oh my my my. Jake.

"Hey you two, how long should I wait until we leave?"

"Coming sis, just getting this one last box." I answered, but it was clear to myself my focus was towards Jake...

"Great, well I'm going to drive, so hurry up because traffic and me aren't meant to be."

But wait.

"Jake, are you coming with us too? I mean in Torn." I asked but at this point, I wouldn't want him to turn around and then do another wink...

Well he did, anyway.

"Yeah Lors. I am. Already told your sis about it."

Ah. Of course. Because he knew I'd say all the things that would keep him from coming with us. He's a good guy, like I said but I'm not sure I like the idea of stalking...

"Well how do I refuse that?"

He chuckled. He knew I was already sorely defeated.

"Yeah Lors."

Jake. What a guy you are.

Traffic.

Yep. The same exact thing my sister had tried to avoid met her right at the face. Guess there are things that we just couldn't prevent.

Oh well. But at least we are close to Torn now. But traffic is traffic I guess.

"Great." Millie said. But it's clear and evident in her voice, that she'll have a fit.

"Chill Mills, the traffic should relax shortly. Heard its just because of this new amusement park opening inside Torn." Jake explained.

"How are you so sure? You know about Torn city?" She asked.

"Well yeah. Someone has to survey the place we are going to right?"

Good point Jake.

However Millie's eyes are about to fire up. One more minute of this traffic and the poor steering wheel gets it.

"That Gabe friend of yours better be sure he's in his apartment cause I am not in the mood to wait any further more this day."

"Phoning him." said right before I did.

"Just look at these stupid cars! Are they even moving?! The toll gate looks like its frozen stuck."

Goodness. "Relax Mills. You're about to explode." Jake replied, and surely I have made a quick look at him, and glared...

"Don't worsen it more than it already is." I said.

Millie on the other hand seemed to have ignored us both. She placed all of her energy and attention towards finding a way out of this traffic. I bet if she only had the power to make it disappear she'd have done it already.

"Hi?"
"Hi Gabe!"
"Oh Lors. It's you! Where are you at now?"
"Here, we're just about to enter the city, and my goodness the traffic out here is intense."
"Yeah, its the amusement park that newly opened here. People from all over flocked just to see it."
"Seems like a famous park because the amount of cars out here is just dramatic."

"Oh haha yep. This amusement park is about as twice as the size of that of Disney. Plus, they're here for The Crew. Its this new Torn based band. You know locals? What made them famous was their album, Steal Your Heart. Made a lot of girls and boys swoon over it."

"Ah I see. Well just by the sound of it, it does look like the song was what made them steal all this attention from America."

"Haha yeah. Anyways Lors I'm going to cook. See you later when you arrive, and say hello to your sis for me..."

"Sure bye—"

"You better be there when we arrive Gabe." Jake butted. He beat Millie to it.

For reasons both obvious and unknown. One thing's for sure, Jake doesn't want me talking with Gabe.

"Well there you go. Someone's obviously jealous." Millie uttered, apparently entertained that it's now Jake who looks upset.

"Ugh I thought you're busy cursing the traffic?" He responded.

"This ride wouldn't be fun without some drama."

"I'm still here you two."
