For a beginner it is very well done. I can't compete to that. Netjes werk, vooral het meisje in de zon. Groeten uit het zuiden.

    Carbonara [2009106]

So, I started making oil paintings during lockdown and I was looking for ways to share them. I don't really like social media but I figured maybe this would be a nice place.
Before this, I have done some pyrography, burning images into wood. That does take a long time to pull off, so that made me want to try painting. So far, I'm pretty interested to learn more but do want to underline that I am an absolute beginner. With all these pictures I'm just trying out different things, I'm not expecting myself to perform very well. Any feedback is welcome nonetheless.

I was also wondering if anyone can recommend a nice movie still to paint? Or would someone like to have their portrait painted? If you can send me a cool shadowy picture I might try it out.

Currently working with just 4 colors: Cadmium red, yellow ochre, titanium white and paynes grey. Not a very good landscape palette, but perfect for portraits. Or so they say on youtube.

Current projects in their current states :)

    Finished in june 2021:

The doggo is done. Unfortunately he died while the painting was being made. This made the painting very special for the owners, but for me, I wouldn't feel comfortable selling it like this. Knowing now it has become of such importance to them, I would have wanted to do more, bigger, more durable (this just on cardboard canvas):

And we have these 'work in progress' pics:

Eyyyy they look impressive!! Any with facemasks to top it off!! :D
