Posted on 19:33:45 - 18/10/20 (4 years ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkI can very much recommend "Mythos" and "Heroes" by Stephen Fry. They are two books about Greek mythology - one covering the gods and how the earth came to be, the other covering the tales told of the Greek heroes, including Heracles and so on. Stephen Fry has a rather sarcastic writing style (it's not the most fitting word, but I can't think of a better one right now) and time flies by when you read both of those books. -

Olden tale plus a whole bunch of blood and gore.
Having no olden English in the book is a bonus -

I want to get into Dark Tower but I really dislike series, I would rather prefer reading stand alone books with clear beginning and end.Last edited by Solor on 13:11:36 - 23/03/22 (2 years ago)

Its a historical account of a german Reserve Police battalion that was stationed in Poland to carry out the Final Solution. Posted on 16:12:28 - 30/12/20 (4 years ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkI am reading Can't Hurt Me by David Goggins.
It's a motivational book with the story of the upbringing of a kid who was bullied and discriminated and forego his victim mentality to embrace the struggle and move up in life.
There is a lot of real-ness in the book. I would highly recommend it. -

Posted on 16:32:27 - 03/02/21 (4 years ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkI'm reading Woman Warrior by Maxine Hong Kingston, it's about being a Chinese first-generation immigrant living in the US. I'm not Chinese but it's really interesting, the writing's beautiful. I'm also reading Murakami's 1Q84 and Hugo's Les Miserables.
I bought a f**k ton of books in the last 4 months and I hope I'll be able to go through all of them. I used to read a lot, like 2-3 books a day but I don't read actual books that much anymore because I keep reading fan fiction. -
