Should we be clicking ‘Open Safe’ after each brute force attempt or is it enough just to continually press ‘brute force’ until success ?

Since the script code features a 'post' action, I thought maybe you can just keep clicking Brute Force to try all the codes but I don't remember it giving the feedback message that says "You twist and turn the dial. Nothing happens. Were you paying attention?" until I clicked the Open Safe button each time as well.
Maybe it's normal for the Brute Force button to not provide any feedback upon use and you can just keep clicking it until success happens.
Just after I clicked "Brute Force" I screenshotted this. The winning combination is there but no positive feedback appears:
Possibly this completed the task. I'd need to check the logs after every attempt to see if the safe contents get added to my inventory.After that screenshot I clicked the Open Safe button and got this. It could have appeared if I clicked the Brute Force button again too I guess:
When I get the mission again I'll try using just the Brute Force button only, and see what happens. Then I can edit my previous post with better instructions.Last edited by chaoticsoldier on 12:41:41 - 19/01/25 (2 months ago)if ($enemyHealth <= 0) {tauntEnemy();} elseif ($grenadeAmmo < 1) {findGrenades();} else {lobGrenades();}

Can confirm just press the brute force, I hadn’t noticed I’d cracked it until I looked at my logs.
cheers for the help though!

Brute force success at 500+ out of 790
11:18:41 - 17/02/25 You opened Duke's Safe retrieving Duke's Will
11:21:31 - 17/02/25 You sent Duke's Will to Duke
11:21:55 - 17/02/25 You completed the Duke contract 'Cracking Up' (Expert) and received $130,000 and 58 mission credits
Search 'Duke' in your item list, and work from there. Press brute force once and then Open safe once, Alternate between these two buttons.
Cracked it and immediately the Safe cannot be used again and thus you can't use/open/brute force it again if you missed it ...after 1000+ taps (500 x 2 taps) . Search 'Duke' in your item and send the item to Profile ID 4.
All the above done on a mobile with the script. The script doesn't automate the tapping , it just changes the number combination every time your press brute force ..
If you kinda bored after a while without success, just remember the last combination you Attempted. ...
You can continue brute force from where you left off if you input the last combination manually.

Addendum..
Maybe I was incorrect. The Brute force button may actually perform the Open safe step as well. If this is the case, then I am not too sure if this script is legit.
In any case, if I do get this mission again... I will attack normally , and get the code .
Then only use the script to see if indeed the Brute Force performs the Open safe step as well.
If the above is true, then players can just spam click or tap the brute force 790 times and will eventually stop working indicating the safe has been opened .

Thanks for testing! I think that may be the case.
I also got the "This is not a usable item or you have used it already" message after I clicked the Brute Force button followed by the Open Safe button.But we still need to test if we get the same result after clicking the Brute Force button followed by the Brute Force button again.
I don't see why the script would not be legit though. rDacted described the script as "one click per action", using the same method as other well known scripts. Probably filling the code in the empty fields doesn't count, only the submission of the code to the server counts as one click.if ($enemyHealth <= 0) {tauntEnemy();} elseif ($grenadeAmmo < 1) {findGrenades();} else {lobGrenades();}

I tried attacking 4x and no luck but I downloaded the script,
then tried spamming the brute force/open for ALL combos and came up empty.
attacked for the 5th time and he finally coughed it up.

Thanks very much for testing! Yours is only the second combination we've seen where the left number is above 70.
So the script currently meets 94% of all the combos submitted so far since it only generates combos up to where the left number is 70.
I am not quite sure if larger numbers are actually less common overall, or if it's just because of the limited dataset.
I still don't have enough data to generate reliable combinations where the numbers are that large, but your combo does help get me closer though.
1) Having R-L = 7, follows the trend of larger numbers having a greater difference between them.
Seven is the largest difference so far. Still no 6s observed yet. I want to learn more about how it scales but I need to see a few more large-numbered combinations.
2) Also the middle digit calculation in your combo also works like the others that loop.
87+94 = 181, and 181*1.25 = 226.25
That's 8/8 looping middle numbers using the same formula so I am confident I can probably keep using 1.25 as the multiplier.

Went through all the combinations, but no combination works for me, so I decided to just attack and get the code.
Code is: 88 - 22 - 95
Also, I believe the code where the left number is larger than 70 is much more common that we think. I remember seeing something like 77 before knowing this script is a thing, but I forgot to take a screenshot of that.

Thanks, this helps!
Having the left number in the 90s seems to heavily reduce the possibilities, especially when both the middle and right numbers loop over 100 (because then only the first two digits of the value are displayed).Below are all the ways I can generate two such combinations.
It doesn't really matter if I don't know exactly what the right number is because it actually ends up generating the same combo either way due to only the first two digits being used.For your code 95 - 24 - 10
Left Right R-L Diff. Middle 95 100 5 243.75 95 101 6 245 95 102 7 246.25 95 103 8 247.5 95 104 9 248.75 And also for 98 - 25 - 10
Left Right R-L Diff. Middle 98 102 4 250 98 103 5 251.25 98 104 6 252.5 98 105 7 253.75 98 106 8 255 98 107 9 256.25 98 108 10 257.5 98 109 11 258.75
I can figure out all the likely combos in these scenarios.
Once I have a bit more information on the difference between the Left and Right numbers for combos where the left number is between 70 and 90, I should be able to complete the entire table while minimising the amount of possibilities in the script.if ($enemyHealth <= 0) {tauntEnemy();} elseif ($grenadeAmmo < 1) {findGrenades();} else {lobGrenades();}

Since rDacted has left Torn, I've made a new version of the script.
It's the same as rDacted's old one, just with an updated combination list that I will continue to maintain.
All probable combinations are now included!
Every code we've seen so far is covered and it should be reliable for future missions.
The total increased from 790 to 907 combinations but I'll probably be able to reduce that further in time once I have more data.
If you're testing it, let me know how it goes, and if you encounter any code that is not covered by the script.
I only just need to confirm that it can work by only clicking the "Brute Force" button rather than repeatedly clicking the Brute Force button followed by the Open Safe button which is what I did the first time I used it.

Hello. Thanks very much for testing!
Please let me know which buttons did you click in the script (just "Brute Force" repeatedly, or "Brute Force" followed by "Open Safe" each time.
My guess is that it doesn't register a correct code if you just spam Brute Force, but I don't know how to fix that.
Edit: rDacted left an alternative line in the script comments. I'll try it out when I get this mission again.Last edited by chaoticsoldier on 09:20:15 - 21/03/25 (4 days ago)if ($enemyHealth <= 0) {tauntEnemy();} elseif ($grenadeAmmo < 1) {findGrenades();} else {lobGrenades();}

Yeah, I just spammed the “brute force” button. I can tense my arm a click the mouse button about 500 times in a minute so I’d have never seen the success message.
but guess I can confirm there’s.no need to click ‘open safe’ at all

will have to try and keep an eye out next time this one comes around, I didn't notice any change in the message, but I wasn't really looking for one either, I kinda expected a notice that it unlocked.
Cycled all 907 combos, didn't realize it had opened, went and got the code from the target, and only realized it was open when I looked for the safe in my inventory again! lol! -
