I have found that mission targets seem to be based on a stat total. We all know that a balanced player often beats an unbalanced player with the same total and that gear and merits help to some extent.

Are balanced stats a hard requirement for mission success, or does the system take in account unusual builds? I'm balanced now and everybody keeps telling me to stay that way. I am, however, quite stubborn. What do you think?

No it's not a hard requirement. I've been able to defeat all my targets (315 missions completed now) although my stats are far from balanced atm.

    Strength: (65.05%)

    Defense: (5.32%)

    Speed: (15.36%)

    Dexterity: (14.27%)

It might be a problem though when your defense or dexterity is extremely high compared to your other stats as you need to to damage to defeat your target.

I'm glad to hear that! It would be really nice to add a little more strength. Gotta love large numbers in combat logs ;)

I can beat most mission targets very easily or with not too much difficulty. The key to having a easy time is to have lots of +% on your home page next to your stats. When im rehabbed and on lsd i have 2 stats at over +80% and 2 at about +10%.

Thats probably why i do well at missions.

A lot of people struggle i suspect because they try to do missions when on xanax cooldown. Taking a 30% hit on each stat can transform you from a killing machine into a weakling.

That makes sense. I think we finally have a use for vicodin now xD

I suppose so. But consider LSD. It gives a nice strength and defence boost but hits speed and dexterity but the gain is greater than the loss. It does give 50 energy as well.

The od rate is pretty high probably about the same as vicodin.

    I'm not balanced
    never have been
    not aiming to be
i don't leave any one stat far behind other 3 tho

I do fine in the missions, I have only completed on the low end of 100 missions tho but that's just bc I don't like the reward payout to energy usage. So I am content gradually picking up mission points and rewards. But that might just be me, I know lots of peeps go after max mission completion and complete theirs daily.

I'm glad to hear I can safely let the balance go :)

As far as rewards go I have to agree that, aside from the mods, they are not very high. But at my level the mugs you get from Duke's targets can be quite nice. I tend to keep them on my blacklist for frequent muggings.

Yep, I keep one stat at tops, one stat mid, and two stats even

But to each their own! There is not one correct answer, because one stat build might work well against one player, but it might be terrible against another player. For the missions, balance is good, but it's not absolute necessary to succeed in missions. You just can't leave a stat completely behind.

You've figured out a key ingredient to longevity in this game..... when you dabble in more and more different aspects of the game, you will find uses like that you mentioned. You will be able to connect dots within different parts of the game that do connect if put your mind to it. Same with trading, for example, you will be able to connect dots and see why people buy certain things at certain times, and why they don't at other times. Playing the various aspect of the game over time, and paying attention, are useful to keeping interest up and keeping goals in mind.
