    What's your take on this?
With the way Blizzard has been being managed lately is this speculation possible? Or is the author high as sh*t and needs to get out of his mancave?

You don't really need much to be sure is pure fiction...

List 10 Most Played MMORPGs of 2021 (updated 07/2021) :

    1. World of Warcraft (2004)
    ACTIVE PLAYERS : 3,266,477

    2. FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn (2013)
    ACTIVE PLAYERS : 2,433,964

Does anyone really think Blizzard would send to pasture their ~30M dollars PER MONTH revenue (on subscriptions alone) while it still holds almost 1/3 more players than the second most played game?

That and drop Overwatch after what they already spent to try to make it a e-sports thing...

Blizzard will milk WoW even if with just shity expansions till its no longer profitable to do so, and considering the ~350M dollars per year that is still generating (a lot more than most AAA games budget (that i can think of, only RDR 2 had a budget larger than that)) it will still be a good while till that happens.

Also doubt they would use a name already used by a fortune 500 company in tech.
