    Introducing  S Class  to Torn City Racers! 

    • Unlocks after Racing Skill 30.00
    • New Honor bar for unlocking S class
    • Several New cars with stats unique to the class
    • Unique Track to suit the skill and cars required
    • Definitive endgame content for racers

    > This new racing class unlocks for players after they reach a racing skill of 30.00.


    > To compete in this class players need to have an S class car to enter or create the

    custom S class races. Official races continue up to class A, as before, that way people can still

    gain racing skill / points in official races.


    > There would be a unique Track to the class that would be harder and longer than

    current tracks (about 5 mins a lap) Whilst this track is exclusive to the S class, it can

    also be used to determine the winner of existing official tournaments.


    > The new cars for this class can be a mix of hyper cars both old and new to add some variety and flavor.

    The entry level Hyper cars that players are able to choose and buy in order to compete I propose to be

    the 2021 McLaren Senna and the 2021 Ford Fiesta WRC rally car priced to match their exclusivity -

    I propose a price of $50 million. They can be purchased from the Docks, where they appear very

    rarely and can only be purchased by players who have unlocked S Class .

    We'd love to create a racing expansion at some point in the future, and an 'S' tier class with new cars, upgrades and tracks is logical. At the same time I've always wanted to add sponsorships and a mechanic to build a fanbase (a 'fans' counter). As well as a Tournament system for some kind of ranked leaderboard.

    Such an update of course is pretty expansive and low on our priorities list, but I'm sure we'll get around to it eventually.

    I do like the idea It would give racers another goal to achieve, and maybe an honor bar upon achieving.

    I think 30 racing skill is pretty much on the button as an entry level.

    Track wise I have always thought a Nurburgring style of track using the current torn map would be cool or a point to point cannonball sort of thing even would be fun. The use of these in the URT would definitely add to the event.

    Old and new cars yes but not with the Veyron. This is already an established A class car. Yeah I know I have one and maybe it doesnt shine as bright for me as for some. But I think as an exclusive prize car it will still shine and retain a special place.

    For this cars wise I do think it should be more of a race car kinda thing. A track/racing senna yes I dont see why not maybe a Porsche track car. And oldies like the F1 gtr and F40 and throw in a couple of rally bred specials also Audi quattro and a more modern rally car. As race specials they should already be fitted with most extras as standard. The gearbox,suspension and tyres being the only add ons.

    The cars for this do need to be pricey as it is Elite and adding them to various locations once you have the racing skill required would keep it so.

    Just my ideas to add to the pot. But all in all a great idea. Just gotta hope Ched sees some of it or maybe all as a good idea.

    This sounds great to me! Don't get me wrong, I'm currently nowhere near the 30 RS for this to impact me any time soon, but I would love to see something more with racing, and this gives players something extra to work towards!

    Racing could use more substance, and this would certainly help with that!

    hopefully this time this suggestion gets enough upvotes then.

    I made in the past a similar suggestion, also based on a higher rs.

    I however gonna add what I had in my suggestion then:

    Since I feel like we need a completly revised view for dirt tracks. We already have super cars, so I would want something else then hypercars.

    For me give me a rally class car, add the Group B rally class cars in the game. It immediatly eliminates aswell that there is basicly only 1 mudpit car + it would remove the honda nsx and audi r8 as dirt cars.

    Trackwise then:

    Add rally courses from over the world into it also more entire dirt tracks.
    add a new type of track : snow

    Even further to go:

    Another one of my old suggestions was adding cars based on racing skill.
    It basicly was cars over all classes, of which once you hit the treshold in rs you gained one rng'ed car from the pool that you could not sell.

    To add this to my previous response of what i'd like (rally cars).

    Let's say add a range of 20 cars in it.

    5 can be purchased abroad for a hefty sum.
    15 are rng'ed. So at 30 rs you receive 1/15, at 40 rs another car.

    The rng'ed cars can't be sold and you can't collect all of them

    Also agree on a rally exclusivity. New cars needed that is true.

    • What do you think of a classic cars challenge. There is nothing.mentioned yet.

    • Would we want a merit for each new category ?

    • What about podium prize $$ , a bottle of bubbly, and a medal / cup
    On the last point this would require very little dev work :)

    saw a suggestion that URT winners should be able to create a trackfrom the street structure in the city map,
    Add this and make these tracks only available in the new elite class.

    I like the idea, but 30 RS is way too high to make most racers keep interest. 10 is a minor achievement to most and 20 is a long grind from 10.

    I’d suggest there needs to be an expansion by 15 RS as a maximum, and I’d suggest expansions at 10, 20 and 30. New classes is the obvious solution.

    I would ask the question who the target market for this change is?

    If it is the core body of high end racers, I have to wonder how many people would actually benefit from this. We've already had indications that racing is fairly small piece of the Torn pie and that it isn't deemed a priority for new development while that is the case. This sharpens that pool from what I understand is maybe tens of thousands down to hundreds.

    Unless new awards (honors or medals) are part of it, I don't see it having a large effect on the player base. If there are, then I would expect to see a surge as many of the people that have collected all 6 current awards go on to complete the new awards, then they collectively dump racing again.

    Make no mistake- I think racing is a lot of fun and I really enjoy being part of the community and I'd love to see it continue to grow. I am thinking things like maps designed by URT winners (https://www.torn.com/forums.php#/p=threads&f=4&t=16213993&b=0&a=0&start=0) and things like that could help benefit the majority of racers and help increase overall popularity. And if tools for designing tracks and balancing car specifications become robust and easy to use, then it wouldn't be a big problem to deliver both more cars and more tracks across all levels of racing. But I would see those as being the desirable direction to accomplish this rather than specifically changing the class system, especially when this new class would trigger off of RS instead of Points Earned, which would add new complexity to the function.

    To that last point, what if some value like 5k, 7500, or 10k points was instead used? It would miss people that really grind RS in custom races, but be a much simpler thing than suddenly requiring all of the existing logic on advancing to take into account RS instead of just points earned.

    I personally envision this to be an endgame of sorts for racers.

    Anyone knows that getting to 10.00 racing skill takes time.

    20.00 takes even more and 30.00 - well that takes several years.

    Torn is a long term game and as such its logical to have something for people

    to strive to achieve down the road - in this case an Elite league to race.

    Obviously reaching this milestone could be rewarded with a Unique Honor Bar.

    I do think track wise we need to stick with the current city map that all of the courses are taken from. Maybe some "short cuts" across a few fields or through a building site (torn is growing).
