With the old BB code in the old forums, when you added one of the torn emoticons to text they would be inline like this:

Rather than centred and separated from text like they are now, like all other pictures:

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My suggestion is to make these torn emoticons (in the picture below) appear inline again.

The new forum formatting looks much nicer for most pictures, but having the emoticons separate from the rest of the text they were with looks odd to me. Seeing as the torn emoticons are inserted by using the smiley button (rather than by adding the url like all other pictures), it seems like it would probably be feasible to alter the formatting created automatically when you choose one of the torn emoticons to insert so that they, unlike other pictures, remain inline.

    Why?
The emoticons often make more sense when next to the text. It's obviously not a huge deal, but would just make the emoticons look somewhat nicer.

Images in general are really broken in this forum system

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they keep laughing, then they start choking on their laughter, and then they go and catch their breath. Then they start laughing even more.

    Yes!

Actually I was going to make a "general forum improvement" suggestion thread, glad you've beat me to it (kinda)!

    1. I also think forum threads should not auto purge out of your "subscribed threads" or "My Threads" panels on the forum index ~ 30 days after last post. I think you should need to remove them manually.

    2. Also is it possible to have a thread go to 'new posts since your last visit' if I click on a thread (or even the last page number)? It'd be much easier to see where you're up to.

    3. When you click to go to the next page of a thread, I think it should automatically put you at the top of the page. Right now it goes to the next page, but doesn't anchor (w/e the technical term is) you to the top of that new page.

    4. When you click on a rating/quote post in the "feed" section of the main forum index, I believe it is supposed to take you to the post in question. This seems to only work some of the time. Also if you middle click to open it in a new tab, it doesn't even attempt to go to the post in question. Can we fix this, please?

That's what I've got for now. Rate + obviously!

If you post them here then you are missing out on all that sweet suggestion karma, make a new thread

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they keep laughing, then they start choking on their laughter, and then they go and catch their breath. Then they start laughing even more.

I remember they were broken for a week or something a while ago where no-one could post any pictures but that seems to have been fixed now...

    1) Yeah, completely agree- sometimes people will subscribe to threads in order to 'bookmark' them or else some threads which haven't been posted in for a long time may become relevant again- or you might just want an easy way to look back through your old threads without having to use the forum search which often doesn't work very well.. unless you actually don't want to see it any more.
    2) It would really make more sense if the links went to the first new post since you'd last visited, rather than the first page I yes
    3) Yes, would make more sense
Thanks for the ideas, I'll edit them in []

    4) Yeah, maybe post it as a bug? Seeing as ched seems to deal with stuff labelled as a "bug" much faster than suggestions xD

True- sometimes text formatting also doesn't work, especially the headings, and it looks different from when you typed it. Text and images should actually appear like they look like they're going to appear from the preview :/

Actually on second thought, most of what I listed are bugs, as I feel, is the OP (or at least an issue!). I have posted my bugs in a new bug report, along with another one I have.

    Thanks!

Yeah great minds think alike! Bug report is up! I didn't post the emoticon as a bug/issue (didn't wanna steal your thunder!). Feel free to add it to my bug report though, so hopefully it'll get fixed.

I think actually it's much more of a bug/issue than a game addition (making you have to get 100+ votes to get it fixed).

Cool, hopefully it will get fixed faster now- all of this stuff is probably more of an 'issue' than a suggestion seeing as it's not really a new game feature, but an old one that just doesn't work properly xD
