I find that a nice feature in racing is the ability to switch out a car from a race, upgrade that car, and switch it back in. I feel that this could be an unfair advantage when it comes to race matching (especially after all your opponents have entered the race you're in) in a way that you can upgrade your car a bunch of times and dominate. I propose X solutions.

Method 1: Have a cooldown for car upgrading, maybe have it say "upgrades being installed". After you upgrade a car, there will be a countdown for a certain amount of time before you can enter it into a race again. When you start a new race, all cars that were recently upgraded and are still under a cooldown would not be on the list or be on the list but the button to select them would be greyed out or replace by a timer that ticks down to 00:00:00.

Method 2: Automatic rematching. Basically rematches your opponents, like if you switch your car from a lower stat one to a higher stat one, the system will automatically move you to a race with opponents of similar car stats. However, the servers would have to allocate resources to rematch multiple races and multiple cars.

Method 3: Lock down cars in races. Might not be liked but it will eliminate the need for the system to use resources to process automatic rematching. When a car enters a race and they are the only ones in the race, you will be allowed to change your car. When there are multiple (2-6) racers entered into a race, including the player, the 'change car' option would not be on the page.

Eh, as much as I'd like to see racing improvements, this is not one I'd like to see. I'm not gonna downvote it as I can see your point of view, but it would also be severely punishing to lower skill drivers and having a tarmac car selected for a dirt track and such.
I wouldn't mind if lock down cars were added for custom races, but don't we already have the car limiter, which should be enough to suit anyone's needs?

To address your concern regarding lower skill drivers, you will be brought to a random race when you select official races and will know of the track before you enter your car.

Also... this would be a nightmare to code. I'm currently training in coding myself with mostly web pages and such, and this would probably cause a big headache to attempt to integrate this.

Also, how does that fix things for lower skill drivers? They can't compensate for low skill with good cars if this system goes through, ensuring they are stuck without wins, and without racing points.

Edit: Admittedly, the good racers are likely to have fully upgraded cars, but I still prefer the current system as there is always at least a chance of winning.

It's not really an issue - upgrading a car comes with a significant enough cost that at best you'd only be able to do it once per car in the manner you are proposing. Even switching set ups for an already upgraded car comes with a significant enough cost to make it not really a feasible option.
