    This is just a bad idea all around. The block is there for a reason. It is unfortunate that honest players are negatively affected by this. But the problem is the people who cheat not the system in place to prevent them from cheating. If you do not like that her keep that in mind in the rest of life of how things people do affect other people.

    If you were to give a bit of a leeway like that it would be abusable.
    Is this a bad idea because it can potentially be abused, or does it simply need to be improved first?

    I will soon spend a lot of my online time on (semi-)public networks. If I'd log in to Torn on the university network for instance, I would risk an IP block. Alternatively I could simply forget about factions and play when I have the time to play from my home network.

    I'd be happy to re-work my suggestion into something less abusable if you believe it has any chance of succes. I believe it could really benefit the Torn community.

    as everyone knows, you can not send money to players with your own IP, for fear of multis or playing against torn rules. the only problem is that when players refer other friends or family in the area, they might want to send them a LITTLE cash to help start them out, so heres what i'm thinking. this might not work, but wouldnt it be acceptable to send a very small amount? (1mil maybe) this amount really wouldn't help them much in the long run, but it is a big deal for a new player. it will keep them interested in the game, and would add more players to the torn community.



    at this point i see many flaws, this was just something to think about.
    discuss.
    Then I could just script it to do that same send over and over and over again, 24 hours a day till it amounts to massive money. 

    Your idea could be massively abused.

    Because it's causing much more collateral than stopping actual multi's at this point. Plus, it's easily avoided by simply running your connection through a proxy, or multiple proxies. I won't describe how to do that here for obvious reasons.

    I attack a player 4 times, losing on purpose, hitting only with fists. I get paid 1.2m for my efforts. I then buy a xanax bar for 800-900k. I wait for energy to refill, pop the xanax and attack/slut for 350 energy. That is enough energy for 14 attacks x 300k payment each hit = 4.2m cash. If you're below lvl 15 though, your drug addiction will build up and effect stuff negatively, so get a job early at a flower shop or cruise line.
