Ok, so my idea/suggestion is a Ranking/Hierarchy System in factions. I will show examples of how they would work.

Pros of having the Hierarchy System!

    - Roleplay or giving the faction a more environmental feel? Say your faction is called Knights of Blahblahblah. You could have the leader rank name as King, then you could have co-lead has council, and regular members as knights/soldiers or something. It basically gives factions the freedom of naming their own ranks. Just having a lead and co-lead is sort of boring and doesn't give each faction its own uniqueness.

    - I feel as though it would make players want to be more a part of their faction and help and just participate a lot more within their faction. Having ranks would make players feel like they have another type of leveling system to work towards.

    - In my opinion it would make the permissions a little bit easier. The leader can go through and have presets on each rank. (Example Shown Below)

    Example:

See above how you could just preset the newly accepted players to not have very many permissions instead of changing EACH INDIVIDUAL PLAYER you can just rank them up or create ranks. NOTE: I think there should be a limit on how many ranks can be created. Like 15 would be solid. Starting each faction off 3 ranks. Leader, Co-Lead, and member would allow the leader to add as many ranks as he/she sees fit. ALSO THE LEADER SHOULD BE THE ONLY ONE ALLOWED TO CHANGE PERMISSIONS AS IT IS NOW!

I really want this idea to be implemented, it would give the factions a little more excitement and allow each faction to be versatile and get players more motivated.

Please +R if you like this suggestion! It would be much appreciated :)

    Nice suggestion, R+

This could branch out to all kinds of new roles within factions; recruitment officer, finance (banking/pay-outs), organised crimes planner and even armoury attendant!!

Its just a shame faction leaders often like to be in total control, and therefore would frown upon trusting numerous members with different parts of their faction.

I honestly thought about it from the perspective of a Faction leader considering I usually lead a guild, clan, group in most of the games I play. I feel that implementing a system like this will help add a little more organization and fun to the faction feature :) Thanks for the rate c:

Hang on a minute - how'd this idea end up turning into suggesting that Coup d'etat's be introduced so that the OWNER of a faction could be forced out of THEIR faction? That's right - it's the OWNER of the faction you're talking about removing here, not a democratically elected "leader".

I'm not sure how you've managed to flip this idea (which is a decent one at its core) into a scenario where faction members start demanding more responsibilities within the faction "or else", but I doubt that's what the OP had in mind.

For the record there are pretty good reasons for faction leaders to be rather conservative in handing out responsibilities to faction members, but I like the idea for those members that a faction leader does wish to grant additional responsibilities to.

No I never meant anything about overthrowing a leader or even removing a leader. I just think ranks that have set permissions would be easier than just going through and clicking each individual players permissions. Its just another thing for us to be able to customize the names of our ranks in the Hierarchy System. I think it would be cool to have rank names that match the themes. Also this system would help to show how much each member participates. It would make things a lot easier for leaders in that case.

Sorta where I got the idea from tbh. I see it implemented in a lot of other games. It wouldn't hurt this one or make it unoriginal if it was added.

    Positives:

    1) Setting up pre-fabricated ranks with settings already included is an easy and fast way to give out permissions to members in bulk.

    2) Customizing rank names will allow factions to better customize themselves and set themselves apart from other factions.

    3) Suggestion: Automatic promotions from one rank to another for meeting certain criteria, customizable by the Faction Leader.

Example: Faction Member A joins a faction with 100 attacks. The leader adds an automatic promotion from Recruit to Member (custom-named ranks) when achieving at least 200 attacks (further suggestion: attacks done while in the faction if possible).
Faction Member A achieves this goal and automatically ranks up and gains new permissions.

    Negatives:

    1) The suggestion in its current form may add confusion to factions that already have a lot of permissions outlined for their members. It also doesn't have any provisions for this being an 'optional' system that can be toggled on rather than an 'always-on' thing. Some factions don't want anything to change the way their faction runs.

Suggestion: Make using this system optional.

    2) There is some confusion about who will be allowed to give these custom ranks to other users.

Suggestion: Perhaps another permission should be created to allow assigning of custom ranks, or allow the Leader to limit what types of ranks each user can assign.

    Overall:

This is a positive change overall that has some hidden negatives that can pop up if they aren't addressed first. I voted the thread up and votes yes on the poll, however.

I edited the post to make it more comprehensive I suppose. I am not sure about the whole automatic rank up. It is a really nice idea but at the same time if someone came into the guild and "played nice" and just leveled up and progressed through attacks, crimes, and other in-game features then all along had ill intentions of kicking members, stealing money, and grabbing all the items from the faction then it would have a really negative affect and potentially cause the faction to plummet.

just individually add the details before your name, then everyone in the whole game will know you inner faction rank squire.

R- for the idea but R+ your bump post because i don't like to R- people :)

Also, you know that opening more listed ranks means more work for the leader as people will just be inundated with requests to be "Second henchman's ammo guy" (since it's a crime game). needless in my opinion and the money and time to implement the idea would be far better off elsewhere.
