So what are your fitness goals for 2021 ?

So I recently hit 200kg deadlift 1 rep max
Squat 130 kg 1 rep max
Bench press 90 kg 1 rep max

So my goals are to see if I can do reps with the same weight for the deadlift by the end of the year.
I want to get my squat to 200 kg and do reps with it.
Get my bench to 200 kg and do reps with it.

Most importantly I need to stop taking so much time off and work on consistency with both my training and my nutrition.
So I want to work out every day, even if it is just a light jog on rest days, and I need to cut out caffeine and sugar from my diet because when I get stressed for deadlines and stuff I overdue it and crash hard sometimes just before the exam or the evening before a big assignment.

So yeah please post your goals for the year would love to see what other people are up to and I wish you the best of luck with your endeavors.

    Nice thread, Ferocious!

I have a few goals of my own too... If you notice the absence of squat/deadlift goals is because I have back pain that exacerbates if I load weight, so I do extremely low weights for high tempos for those.

    Bench 100kg x1 from 60x10 paused reps
20 BW Dips from 15 reps
Chin Ups 10 from 5 reps
Bent Over Rows 80x10reps from 60x10reps
DB Shoulder Press 30kgx5 from 24kgx4/5
    Run 5km in under 30mins
    Start BJJ

Training and nutrition consistency are also goals of mine.
I am struggling a bit right now with the gyms closed as I don't like to train outside/home a lot so will see.
I would like to reduce caffeine and sugar as well, not completely eliminate them.

Happy 2021 to everyone, hope you all crush your fitness goals :)

    Facial aesthetics for this

I am goal orientated, so this should be a good motivator. ~13% bodyfat should do it.

    kettlebell circuits

They hit nearly every muscle group in the body https://www.thetrendspotter.net/best-kettlebell-exercises/

Swing in particular, if you use a 16kg bell, at one point in the swing you are technically swinging 500lb due to momentum.

Im actually stopping all weightlifting and only doing cardio for the first 4 months of this year and focusing heavily on my diet.
Abs are made in the kitchen.

I'm not interested in being relevant. I probably posted just to irritate you.

So far the year has been quite eventful for me and as such my goals changed somewhat.

So I quit the gym, and my goals are now bodyweight oriented.

    So...

    1. Increase my 1 set push-up reps each week by doing loads of push-ups.

    2. Work on my general cardio fitness, I want to run a 1500 m under 5 min like back in high school and maybe something like a half marathon in decent time, so basically lots of running.

    3. I suck at pull-ups so learn how to do then nicely and maybe lose some weight so they are easier lol.

    4. Food: Eat more nutritious stuff and cut back on soda.

Goals can and must be changed as we as people change the person who set goals in 2020 for the year is no longer the person in 2021 chasing them goals so make sure the same person who sets the goals wants the goals.

I will try and update monthly, hopefully this helps me and maybe somebody else with persistence in the pursuit of one's goals.

Fitness goals for 2021 for myself?
I've been a competitive powerlifter for bench press for two years, completing a 370 pound (167kg) bench press back in August last year. I'm also an above the knee left leg amputee.

    1. The continued goal has been to finally hit at minimum 402 (182kg) pounds for bench press in competition.

    2. Second major goal is to get my deadlift (single leg deadlift) to over 225 pounds.

    3. At some point during offseason I'd like to drop some of the fat I've been carrying from all the bulking I did lol.

    4. Becoming a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM within the next 2 weeks hopefully!

I buy the 1 gallon jugs of water at Krogers and take them to work with me everyday. I can buy them for eighty-nine cents a piece. A bottle of water at work from the machines cost $1.50.

I've always sucked at pull-ups (still kinda do) BUT I've found that I've focused a lot on my bis and tris over the last month or two and pull-ups are now much easier. I still weigh 90 kilos (haven't lost weight) but yeah if you want to get better at them whilst not losing weight... focus on your arms. Close grip pull-ups are piss easy now.

I barely worked out at all last year so this year i vaguely decided I might work out every friday, since 52 workouts is f**k all in the long run, but still 52 more workouts fitter than some weakling who did none.
Also if I made it a new years resolution I would definitely drop it lol so there was a seriousness to the non commitment aspect.
I gave it a shot and by the second week of february I was doing extra workouts on tuesdays cos I really enjoyed it lol.

One thing that really made a difference for me is drop sets, or dropping down a weight to finish the set. It's a total mind f**k when you can't move your arms anymore, but if you decrease the load, you surprisingly still can continue and it's not impossible, and you still endure time under tension that kinda feels ridiculously stupid intellectually. Cos it doesn't feel like a struggle, you're lifting a light weight, and you're not going to exhaustion, kinda feels like you didn't even break any barriers or even try hard in a way if you get me. But the pump is insane and the DOMS is way more intense, you can literally feel the gains in recovery. I'm a lanky bastard so metabolic stress works much better for me than heavy weights.

Drop sets are awesome. Increases the burn tenfold over stopping at what you initially thought was your maximum amount of exertion.

    Keep it up! :)

My goals are to workout as often as possible and to eat better. No specific weight goals for the big three, just going to see what I can reach and enjoy the journey.
