Usually the most vocal about being disrespectful are the first to run away or make a mistake in an actual gun fight. i'll guess 90% of the people commenting here have never shot and killed someone else, military or otherwise. 60%-70% (maybe more) probably have never been the victim of a shooting of a close family member. Let alone talk to the family members devastated by a random shooting. and 100% of the people on the right are incapable of putting themselves into someone else's shoes.

Its obvious here, I call them idiots based on their shitty opinions here, they just attack stupid shit they know nothing about. Epitome of stupid behavior.

I remember seeing a post a few days ago, it may have been bullshit, but it says that the majority of people watching long form content are those that politically lean to the right. In contrast, those that lean left are more likely to focus primarily on sound bites and buzzfeed listicles.

Which to me checks out considering how often when engaging in debates online I've noticed that members of the left tend to have a lot of opinions, and not a lot of substance to back them up, whereas those on the right tend to have a lot of thoughts, but not many conclusive opinions as they recognize the nuance of the situation and recognize they don't need to form a conclusive opinion.

But of course, with anything, this isn't universal or absolute.

“The Worldly Hope men set their Hearts upon Turns Ashes--or it prospers; and anon,
Like Snow upon the Desert's dusty Face Lighting a little Hour or two--is gone.”

Honestly, Rosebaum was pretty much an asshole from what I read, the others though, have a very different story, Huber was borderline, and one of my best friends when I was young also had it, he also threatened his family, but it wasn't really him, just moments. Considering Hubers family still love him and are trying to get some justice tells me enough.

Grosskreutz was there as a medic, trying to help people.

The last two certainly didn't deserve to die, and are victims of an unfortunate situation. It's sad to see some people are actually celebrating their deaths, must be really hard for their families

The Dems have tons of shit against them. Conservatives, if they had brains, could easily wipe the floor with them. But the cult people always claim bullshit. If they could just zero in on the actual issues, we could be ragging on the democrats. But nope, its turned into years of them blasting shit that isn't important or real. Just like the dems could actually strive to change things, but theyre too conceited to care beyond their 50 foot vision.

Not starting. Its been like this since the 70s.

I rag so much on republicans, because as of right now, they are the worse party. And their followers, more than half of which are cultish-ly following a singular man, keep talking about shit that isn't real. Any one who disagrees with their shit opinions are labeled democrats. And then to top it off, the conservatives keep pushing policies and laws that further entrench separating humans or denigrating them.

The democrats would have to make an extreme left turn to be at the same level of dissonance from public opinion than they already are.

So yes, both parties suck. Both parties have turned it into a team sport. But the followers of the right can't bring up anything important, let alone true, and the policy makers of the right keep going against the soul of our constitution. We should fight for real change like term limits, wealth tax increases for people worth more than 100 million, no stock play for any congress member, ever during their terms, and a short block after they leave, create another technological space race. But right now, the party that's literally threatening our "democracy" is a far bigger issue.

funny you bring up economics. do you think that republicans are somehow "good" with money? You do realize they are the biggest players in increasing our debt, each time they are in office? Not that I'd expect you to know anything true about USA, since it seems you just get the murdoch fed bullshit.

Nearly all of the greatest economic pushes in the last 60 years in the US, the ones that has been proven effective, came from democrats.

Republicans gave us trickle down economics, didnt work. DARE...didnt work. Lie about terrorists...didnt work. "Mission accomplished": it wasn't. allow congressional financial freedom: f**king disaster. all economic decisions under Bush: f**king disaster.

But hey...maybe that guy that lies about his worth, and his properties, and his taxes.....maybe he is worthy of president-ship?

The two biggest contributors to our national debt, something like almost two thirds of it, is Medicare and Social Security. Implemented by a Democrat and expanded by a Republican. The Treasury ranks LBJ number 1 and Nixon number 2 as the presidents, who have added the most to the national debt.

The biggest contributor to Trump’s debt addition was the pandemic more than anything else.

We were all at war for two decades, so naturally, Obama‘s and Bush’s are going to be a lot higher because of that.

All I know now is that we are now helping fund two different wars that we are not even involved in, so, if the government can do that, maybe they could tax us a lot less.

    SporkMonkey [2065017]

Why were the pedos trying to intimidate Kyle by attacking him with a skateboard, which is NOT protected by the 1A? They played FAFO and won with someone that was exercising their 2A Right.

    A707 [2600371]

OK, I'll admit he was in the right when he shot them but that does not explain why he was there in the first place. Having a rifle on him was pretty much an intimidation tool to attempt to restrict the protest and therefore freedom of speech.

    Madgod [1733719]

It was a protest, and one of the aspects of the protest was a show of support for the second amendment. The intention was not to intimidate. If people felt intimidate, then they didn't understand. However, the person who tried to shoot Rittenhouse, and the person attacking him with a skateboard, both were.

I wouldn't call him a hero necessarily. But to your statement in a previous comment "your hero killed people", the unfortunate reality is that sometimes people who are considered heroes are considered such exactly because they did kill someone.

    A707 [2600371]

Since when is carrying a loaded rifle out in public not for intimidation?

    Asbestos [2605613]

Well it’s not doing anyone any good if it’s unloaded…

The facts of this case were pretty clear. He was a a protest playing Boy Scout with his first aid kit and crap. He had reason to believe that he could be attacked, because the protests at that time were very violent. This was the height of antifa running around committing all manner of violent felonies in the name of “justice and equality”.

If I remember correctly the first assailant tried to throw a bag of stuff at him and take his rifle after making some kind of threat about using it on him. Gets shot.

Second guy hits him with a skateboard. Gets shot.

Third guy points a gun at him. Gets shot.

Mob pursued him to the police skirmish line with impugnity.

I gotta be honest here.. no one seemed intimidated by the presence of this nerd.

If you want to be mad at someone, be mad at his mom. She’s the one who let her teenager go off and hang out at a hyper violent protest. He probably was carrying the right tools for the job, but a responsible parent would have grounded his ass and not let him travel to another state. Not being near a crime in progress is always better than being equipped to repel the criminals.

In other news, while it is not illegal, one should not wander blithely down dark alleys in the bad part of town. It’s easier to win the fight you’re not in than the one for which you’ve practiced.

    A707 [2600371]

And you agree that he should not have been there? Especially with a deadly weapon?
Im gonna chime in on this because I lived in Illinois - for most of my adult life - and I'm extremely familiar with the town Kyle lived - Antioch. I had a lot of friends that lived there and often would go to Kenosha to hang out. It was far cheaper and closer than Chicago to drink and party - also had the lake front. If I wanted to shop for food - no food tax in WI - I could make it from Antioch to Woodmans in Kenosha in like 20 minutes. (Also would fill up cause gas is like 30-50 cents a gallon cheaper on average than it was in Illinois cause of the gas tax.)

Yea its across state lines, but I dont think people realize how close it is. TONS of people live in Kenosha and that whole area of WI that commute to Illinois for work and sometimes vice versa. I know because I've actually worked in Kenosha at the Amazon warehouse there. Kenosha is basically the closest city to Antioch that is affordable, has a downtown, and lake front related events.

Kyle SHOULD have been in Kenosha because around half of his family LIVED there. He didnt just hang out there with family and friends, he also worked there.

When those "protests" happened, they hit an area of Kenosha that is NOT wealthy. Its more of a rundown area where you make sure to lock your car doors. Hell, we even looked at houses in that area to potentially buy because of how cheap they were. (Lower cost of living and property taxes compared to Illinois.) We held off because of how much work we would have to do to alot of those houses and there were TONS of young males with literally no adult supervision roaming around that were literally tagging shit in broad day light. That was a no go for me when I considered potential crime implications while raising our young kids.

Again this is a run down area of Kenosha - alot of the city is like that. That matters because thats where a majority of the hardcore arson and fires took place. Those business owners got f**ked. (Insurance has caps - assuming they had any of it - and you're lucky if they pay out even close to what it would take to rebuild. Kyle was there on the request of a family friend to protect their business. If you saw that area, you would realize why they would ask.

That deadly weapon should have deterred some of the crazier people there to just wreck shit. To my surprise, it didnt. (I usually assume that open carry should dissuade people.) I'm not going to rejoice in the two deaths and Gages serious injuries. What I will emphasize is that would NEVER have happened if the mayor of Kenosha reacted immediately to stop that shit instead of basically ordering the police around there to not bother. Then again, its a run down area. Who cares right? It's not the touristy area and business district bringing in the money.

Bottom line, it should have been squashed before Kyle was asked to show up - because of how bad it was. Instead two people are dead. Kyle acted in self-defense. Its pretty damn clear. It's also pretty clear that if the Democrat mayor and city officials had decided to actually stop the riot, at least two people would be alive today.
