So what's everyones opinions on schools starting back up, should they require masks for everyone? for just those who aren't vaccinated? no masks at all? or should they be all remote? should those who are vaccinated be allowed in the buildings, and those who aren't have to do it online? Let me know, I'm curious as to what everyone else thinks.

Because my view is masks for everyone, still socially distancing, and the vaccine

Can't wait. My neighbours' kids are scumbags. Let's play it super safe and lock all schools down with the kids in until they turn 18.

I turned into a grumpy old man WAY before my time...

think in denmark we had a total of 6 months of lockdown.

did the US legit have 18 months of lockdown?

i thought schools opened like a year ago lol

    edit: misread the op

haven't thought about this much, thing is covid is a seasonal thing unlike measles for example. but how dangerous is the delta variant for kids?

personally, il leave it up to the advice of doctors. masks requirements suck. unless really needed.

here in Denmark, we got this thing called a Covid pass. its an app on your phone that gives you a "pass" to do things like indoor dining for example. my school requires a valid covid pass to attend.

there are a few criteria you have to fulfil. either 1. your tested within the last 72 hours. 2. you got your first shot within 40 days or 3. you got both shots within the last year

Well, one of my sons is asthmatic, I prefer that they vaccinate him before going to school. I've seen how social distancing works with young kids (5) and it just doesn't. If all kids are vaccinated they should also ditch masks from my opinion.

My son has been to school the last year in Spain, and it was mask wearing and social distancing though from what I have seen not much infections came from schools of younger children, but I don't have all the data on this. High schools is a whole different story, they were literally petri dishes

Open schools but require masks. Students should be vaccinated as soon as the vaccine is cleared for kids and available.

Remember just two years ago when vaccines for a number of diseases were mandatory for kids before they could attend public school?

And that was for measles, mumps, etc. They're far more likely to pick up COVID at school than any other childhood illness.

No face to face classes shouldn't be held yet cuz there's still a lot of people who aren't vaccinated yet, let alone kids. Kids can learn more in face to face classes but health is more important right?

At the very least, individual school districts should be allowed to determine what health measures are appropriate. I think most will find masks and social distancing are necessary and should be allowed to do so without interference from the state.

Out of 4.2 million cases only 350 or so children have died from covid
is that like 1 in 15000?

It's also about people transmitting it, because they can still transmit it to the people in their family who may end up being in more danger due to getting COVID

not even worried about that, I'm more worried about the kids passing it around and giving it more chances to mutate...again.
