Honestly the pathetic knee scraping begging almost makes this sad … almost.

A critical aspect of the monarchical myth was the faith in the benevolence of the ruler.

Even if the subjects noticed injustice, poverty, or oppression, it was always far removed from the monarch.

The wrath of the ruled was aimed at the aristocracy and figures of imperial administration. They had far more day-to-day interactions with the regular people and lacked the mystical veneer of the ruler.

In Russia, this belief was even summarized in the popular saying, “Good Tsar, Bad Boyars.”

As I understand it, the first syllable in Guatemala and the first syllable in Guadalajara are identical.

Don't know much about Polish syllables, but I can't imagine that "Arkansas" is anywhere close to how that is actually pronounced (because that spelling isn't really close to how it's actually pronounced in English). I would have assumed that whomever did the transliteration of places like "Kuba" would have tried to transliterate "Arkansas" to be closer to its actual pronounciation.

Point stands, the transliteration is inconsistent.

I'm not Polish, but in my native language names of countries and some famous states are translated or transliterated, but less well-known ones usually are not, so you absolutely can come across inconsistencies like that.

So, Californië and Arkansas (and the latter is pronounced like the letter r - kun - sus).
