If this map is Polish, I wonder why they changed some location names to have syllables more appropriate to Polish (Mexico to Meksyk, Texas to Teksas, Cuba to Kuba, etc), but kept the spelling of the deceptively spelled "Arkansas".

Or that the Gulf of Poland wasn't changed to "Zatoka Polska" or something like that.

This meme could easily be swapped and make just as much sense.

I believe they don't really use "X" for Texas, Mexico. And if Cuba would be left as it is it would have to be read like Tsuba.

The point I'm trying to make is that the transliteration and translation on that map seems awfully inconsistent.

"Gwatemala" for "Guatemala", but no "Gwadalajara" for "Guadalajara"?

Translating the "New" in New Mexico and the "South" in South Carolina, but not translating the "Gulf", "of", nor "Poland"? All of which have actual words in Polish?

Again, depends on how those words are actually pronounced in the language. Read and read are written the same but pronounced different ways. Same thing applies. 

And gulf of Poland isn't an actual gmaps addition, so arguing about that is pointless. :D

As I understand it, the first syllable in Guatemala and the first syllable in Guadalajara are identical.

Don't know much about Polish syllables, but I can't imagine that "Arkansas" is anywhere close to how that is actually pronounced (because that spelling isn't really close to how it's actually pronounced in English). I would have assumed that whomever did the transliteration of places like "Kuba" would have tried to transliterate "Arkansas" to be closer to its actual pronounciation.

Point stands, the transliteration is inconsistent.
