    Analogy doesn’t work I’m afraid.

Would only work if the question was “would you rather be stuck in a bathroom with a bear or a man.
As we were discussing in the other thread though, if women inherently are more afraid of strange men than a wild animal, it doesn’t suddenly do a 180 and they are pleased to see a biological male inside their restroom.

Yeah but, none of what you’ve said said stops what you’ve said being disanalogous

Which is my point, it doesn’t work.

Counterpoint: if someone's anxious around men, wouldn't they prefer to be around people who don't consider themselves men and don't want to be perceived as men?

    Then let’s do a poll.

If a biological woman is alone in the bathroom, would she rather encounter another biological woman or a transgender woman?

I think we all know what the answer will be.

As long as we include a "DGAF" option for those of us who are just trying to use the restroom and go about our day ;)

As a brown man, I’ll take the white dude. Why? Because statistically he will be more afraid of me.

When the point is that the isolation is what’s causing the discomfort yes.

I guess then the only way to make it really fair would be to ask if a woman would rather encounter a bear or transgender woman while isolated in the woods. Do you feel that these results would suddenly change?

never watched the show. Never had any interest.

In this instance, the issue is that some see a difference between the two and others don't, so the latter have no reason to participate at all. In the original, I doubt "I don't see any difference between a person and a bear" is an issue for very many people.

Again, doesn't make sense. If she is "alone" then there is no expectation she will encounter anyone or anything. A female, a male and a bear barging in would elicit a pretty uniform effect of desiring that these people and animal leave.

From there we can analyze the various factors that brought them in.
Could be anything, but for the sake of the argument.

Woman:I also needed to pee and get away from that sleazebag.
Man:I am that sleazebag and am looking to do things in here
Bear: Ru-roh this is not the kitchen.

Which of these three similar events would you think have the highest threshold for violence against the woman? Which of these three would be most to least desirable to if given the choice?

Yeah, that would make it fair. I think it probably would change the response as well considering the sample bias as discussed.

Looking at the actual Bear VS Man thread and seeing people call out the fragility of men for defending men, then seeing some of the same people in the meme thread defending trans men in the same stupid bear story is f**king... typical.
